Whatever the problem was,it was dealt with sensibly within the Club, peace was declared and all is well again. Puncheon: We're better than our league position

The player who has gone from outcast to potential saviour in less than a year believes Saints’ position in the league this season bears no resemblance to the squad’s talent.

Former QPR loanee Jason Puncheon produced a virtuoso performance on his return to Loftus Road, inspiring Saints to a crucial 3-1 victory that could have kept Nigel Adkins in a job.

A first away win of the season was not enough to move Saints up from 19th place, but Puncheon insists the side are now showing that they are far better than their position suggests.

“As a group we've always known that we shouldn’t be where we are,” he said.
