How can you be greedy trying to score at the moment? At least he showed some passion,thats what Saints need.

There are quite a few quality keepers sitting on benches at Stoke, Villa and Spurs if we need them come January. In the meantime it's Kelvin for me now. Cork and Shaw have made a massive difference and, with Kelvin back, I think we'd have real solidity.

If Nigel sticks with Gazza, great, just concerned that any mistakes from crosses and deadballs vs Ba and co could be costly. I'd prefer to see him blooded in a less pressurised situation.

Shaw is a totally different case - yes he's young, but you can get away with it at left or right back. A keeper is much more fragile.

I think Nigel did brilliant with him - protected him during our nightmare run of fixtures, blooded him towards the end of a game we'd already effectively lost and gave him two winnable games to establish himself.

Fantastic show of unity on and off the pitch on Saturday - Saints fans deserve to feel proud for the way they've not just stuck by Nigel but actively supported him.

I think a couple of years out of the top flight have helped us get our soul back and, win lose or draw, I'm a much prouder Saints fan for it.

no what actually happened was that Punch was dropped so that Saints could show-case AOC and line up a deal.... He was treated very badly and had every right to take issue. Just how he did that was another matter and I am not in support of any player on big money who causes disruption. Anyway its clear now that letting Punch go would have been a huge mistake. So well done all for making friends and getting on with football. Yes he did get greedy but he will see that on the replays and will amend his game I am sure....

I understand the comments about Gaston being a luxury, but if you look at the games he has played in, we have been significantly more successful.

His first game for us was Arsenal, but we then won with him against Villa. He scored away for us at the Toffees, before being injured.
He then came back unfit at the Baggies, but then involved against the Swans and the win at QPR...

By my reconning with him we have played 6, Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 3. = 7 points...

I don't really think that it's a coincidence that he's been involved in helping us gain most of our points.

I don't remember it was as you describe. Puncheon's form was abject and he was carrying wight and looking very lazy - he was actually kept in the starting line-up much longer than his play deserved. He may well have felt the pressure of AOC on the sidelines, but when AOC played he seized his chance and stayed in on merit. Can't be much fun being dropped for a 16 year old but don't think Puncheon handled it well. Still, glad to see he's back because now he causes lots of problems for the opposition not us.

I'd stick with Gazza. Much as I love Kelvin I think Gazza's a good five inches taller and that makes him a more commanding presence in the area. His understanding with the defence will improve with every game, meaning the errors should become rarer.

NA should bring back JWP in the midfield he will play well with Cork. JWP will at least play forwards unlike Davis who prefers playing backwards and sideways. Lalana needs to learn that football is a game played best simple and Lambert needs to up his work rate and look like he wants to actually be playing for the Saints!!!!!

Poor old Force doesn't understand the concept of "mates". As he sits all alone at Fratton after everyone's left (about 70 mins in the past couple of games) he finds himself wondering where it all went wrong.

His only friends are on here (must be; he spends much of his life in here). Soon he'll be coming along to St Marys to see what big crowds and Premier League football are like. He might even end up having a pint with us all and repenting his past in public.

Either that or it's another week in front of his PC all alone, aged 34, in his parents' front bedroom.
