Pardew confirms Cabaye absence

Daily Echo: Yohan Cabaye Yohan Cabaye

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has confirmed that midfielder Yohan Cabaye is to undergo surgery which will sideline him for several weeks, meaning he will miss Sunday's trip to Saints.

The France international will have an operation on his damaged groin either later this week or at the beginning of next week after limping out of the 1-0 Premier League defeat by West Ham two weekends ago.

Ex-Saints manager Pardew, who will be returning to St Mary's for the first time since he was sacked in August 2010, said: ''He will definitely have an operation, and we think it's going to be on Friday or Monday, I'm not sure. That's a blow to us because he's a top player for us.''

Whatever x1 Pards puts out he will get them fired up especially when considers the history between Cortese and AP.Lets hope that at the end of the day we get 3 points which will mean that we are only 3 points behind the toon team and they are down in the mire with us.COYR

We all owe Alan Pardew a huge amount of thanks and respect. He came when we were in the 3rd tier of English football and assembled a squad of players very quickly. He is also the one that brought Sir Ricky in too.

Anyone that gives him **** is a complete tool. Lets show him some appreciation and then get behind Nigel and the team.
