Alex Thomson
Hampshire’s Alex Thomson has moved up into second place in the solo round the world Vendee Globe yacht race. The leading Brit, from Gosport, currently sits only 166.6nm behind the leader, French sailor Armel Le Cléac'h, with Warsash’s Mike Golding back in seventh place.
Golding is around 450nm adrift of the leader.
