Liphook's Sam Hutsby endured what he described as the most stressful day of his life to make the cut at European Tour qualifying school.

The 24-year-old signed for a two-under-par 70 this afternoon to make the final two days of the six-round tournament.

Hutsby wrote on Twitter: “Most stressful day of my life today! Needed to make the cut to have any playing rights for next season! #pressure!”

Hutsby started his fourth round on a total of three-over-par - a score that would not have been good enough to get through.

However, boosted by an early eagle on the Stadium Course at PGA Catalunya in Spain, he made the cut and ensured at least a Challenge Tour card for 2013.

Hutsby, who is currently tied for 56th place on one-over-par, must now try and secure a top-25 finish in order to earn a European Tour card.
