Norwich boss wary of St Mary's effect

Norwich boss Chris Hughton believes his side will need all of their new-found resilience to extend a seven-game unbeaten run tonight believing Saints fans generate “a wonderful atmosphere.”

The Canaries have been reborn since the October international break, with victories over Arsenal and Manchester United.

Norwich head south to face Saints on the back of a battling 1-1 draw at Everton, secured by a last-minute goal from Sebastien Bassong.

However, Saints have also found form in recent weeks, beating Newcastle to record a second successive victory which lifted them out of the bottom three – until Aston Villa’s 1-0 defeat of Reading last night sent them back into the drop zone – and to within four points of Norwich, who are 13th.

“Southampton are a team playing well at the moment, they are at home, and we will need to give a good account of ourselves to get something,” said Hughton.

“It is about going into our game the way we have of late, showing our confidence, and trying to nullify the quality that they have got, but also play our own game.”

Hughton added: “At home they create a wonderful atmosphere and are a team playing with confidence.

“They are on the back of a good win at Queens Park Rangers, and I think they took that into the game against Newcastle, so it will be a tough one.”

Hearing RL is having late test if he is out then we will see just how far we have gone if we can lose RL and still win. The forn line is looking good and I think we can put any one up fornt and get the results as the line behine of AL, GR & Pounch seem to working realy will a delievering the ball into the box and given us chances and that all we need so anythere win tonight please COYR's

southampton seem to forget the players norwich have city will control the mid areas little wes pulling all the strings the wide boys getting the ball in for the powehouse holt
UNDER PAUL LAMBERT NORWICH PLAYED THE SAME GAME AS SAINTS ATTACK but this always leaves you open under chris things have tightened up physical presence will help & norwich will have the edge
in that department 100% 3-1 norwich i think kamikaze defending givin away all 3 goals

If Lambert's out, do we go with Mayuka, Lee or Rodriguez? Mayuka and Lee would give us pace, but not as much height as Rodriguez, so Jay might be the replacement

strassie we know how to deal with the idiots on here and it works quite well, some of us just need a little more discipline when verbally abused.
we don't want the site like the news have it then becomes to easy to remove quotes you don't like and on many occasions the whole thing just ends in chaos because the skunts have no tolerance of anything non-blue

i find reading the posts from kenty/scooter, no moreglory, bring back idiot etc etc etc... it cheers me up no end. i am a huge supporter of southampton fc, and have a dislike of poopey. to know that on the glorious 14th idiots like that will lose their club forever gives me a warm glow inside! i feel sorry for some of their fans but not these. i read their posts as the last death throes of desperate supporters, they know their debt ridden manager less club is on its last legs and yet all they can do is come on here and giggle like the children they are.

tough game tonight, lets hope we can play the same as we have for the last 3 games then we should get the result we need and get back out of the bottom 3!

Got to laugh at the blue few, and Kent121 or whatever his name is saying Poopey should play at St.Marys cost otherwise we would condemn them is farcical! The only people that have condemned them is Poopey, paying their stars astronomical amounts on crowds of around 20,000 in the Prem, then when they went bust not paying the local businesses / schools etc money owed! A poor business sense and the inability to fill their mediocre stadium is the reason for Poopey's demise. I can't remember many blue few getting behind us and offering to ground-share so forgive me for not being to fussed what happens down the road. Ground share with H&W if you must, might fill that ground!
