I see where your coming from sistermum especially as we are within 1 win from about 2/3 other teams and not even bottom of the league quite clearly punching above our weight. I'm sure you've really enjoy the last 3 years.

For the record I actually prefer the championship myself as its much easier to get tickets and most away games are cheaper but I would not want to see us back there as its important for the club to be playing in the best league in the world especially with the money coming in to it next season
I agree. I also prefer the championship.

    Why?

Because there is always the hope at the beginning of the season that you can be top of the league.

In the Premier League you know that the champions will inevitably be one of about four teams.

Success is to end the season in the top half, but invariably, your eyes are firmly focused on the relegation positions.

I would far rather watch a winning run in the championship than a losing run in the Premier League.

The ideal would be an amalgamation of both Southampon FC and Portsmouth FC, playing in a 60,000 seater stadium in the Solent region. Then there would be the prospect of a Premier League team that could challenge for top spot.

Unfortunately, although it would make economic and footballing sense, the supporters of both clubs are so bigotted that they would not see the sense and it would never happen.

Ex-Saints boss to swoop for Lallana?

Ex-Saints boss to swoop for Lallana? Ex-Saints boss to swoop for Lallana?

Ex-Saints boss Alan Pardew is rumoured to be lining up a £5million bid for Saints skipper Adam Lallana.

Newcastle boss Pardew, who left St Mary’s in 2010, has long been an admirer of Saints’ talismanic captain and is said to be lining up a bid in the January transfer window, according to reports in the national press.

The 23-year-old Lallana only put pen to paper on a new four-year contract last year and has been one of Saints’ stand-out performers so far in their first season back in the top flight.
