ASSISTANT manager Chris Ferrett made a rare appearance for AFC Totton in last night’s 2-1 Hampshire FA Senior Cup win over Horndean.

After a goalless first half at the Testwood Stadium, it was a Ferrett cross that led to the opening goal of the game on 57 minutes.

Jack Warren handled the delivery as it came into the box and Mike Gosney – who had missed a penalty at Leamington on Saturday – this time stuck the spot kick away.

With 15 minutes to go, Jonathan Davies replaced young Jack Odam and the winger had only been on the pitch a matter of seconds when his low shot was turned away for a corner.

Gosney delivered the flag kick and Ryan Hill rose to head the Southern Premier outfit into a two-goal lead.

Two minutes later Totton youngster Luke Roberts was denied by a goalline clearance from Tommy Woodward.

But it was Sydenhams Premier outfit Horndean who had the final word when Rob Desport ran clear and shot low past teenage keeper Ross Casey
