Because the way the media works is to think "Oh, Ashley Cole's leaving. Who's an up and coming left back? Um, that Southampton lad? Yes, that means they're definitely after him."

It's harmless fun, though. I wouldn't credit the Echo with the ability to actually influence whether players stay or go (I don't think they were even 1% of the reason AOC left) but it does shift papers if you worry the readers a little bit. Just take it with a pinch of salt is my advice.

But it is rubbish.

They are nothing alike, play a completely different style of play and have very different strengths.
We really do have no other natural goal scorer than Rickie.

And everyone reciting about bringing Sharpe back is ignoring the evidence. He's scored 5 goals for Forest. That is hardly the sort of form that I would expect of a player that should be at Saints after almost half a season.
Despite the fact that we probably owe him for getting us promoted, he is not good enough for the EPL.

I haven't seen enough of Hooper to compare and I doubt many the people posting on here honestly have either?

But we need another goal scorer. Because if Rickie was out for a long time, I wouldn't be confident that we have enough options in our team to keep the goals flowing.

Rodriguez has looked lost up front on his own, Mayuka is untried, but is likely to playing attacking midfield.

Apart from some of our great young players on their way through... who can we play up front???

Everyone knows that sh!te smells because it contains indoles, mercaptans and hydorgen sulphide gas.

It is less widely known, however, that one of the more pongy indoles is called a skatole(really - no joke).

I do not know if the skates were named after skatoles or vice versa,

Almost 75% of your colleagues' turds are water and almost all the rest is dead bacteria and
indegestible fibre. This shows that you only need a very small amount of skatoles to create an unbearable hum.

I suggest you ask him to try cutting out fizzy drinks. Floating turds exposed to the air pong the most. They float because they contain more gas than sinkers. Thus with less gas the offending skatoles go straight to the bottom of the pan.

thing is NC gets loads of abuse on here for the way he conducts business at sms, but the abuse normally comes from a few posters. clyne was a bargin and should go on to play for england as should shaw, if we get an england manager who can look past the big teams and spot talent at any club. shaw will get a good contract offer, and hopefully he will sign and not think that going to a so called `big team` would be better for him. NC and NA are creating a quality squad at saints, a squad that with a little bit of tinkering could be good enough to push for the europa league next season, we can but hope!

Great being a saint, and the last three years have been so opposite to three before that!

the philosophy is there for all to see , we're building a young talented team with players coveted by the so called big teams ...... if some of those youngsters leave it won't be because we didn't try to keep them .... so different from a few years ago .

I agree with you both. The way the team is shaping up it seems that with NCs investment background, he wants a young promising team that will either earn us more by being successful, or earn us more by selling them onto to richer clubs.. In the longer term.

sell some and integrate some into the first team.but I think that is as you say, more of a long term strategy.short term we need to try to stay in this league, and that might mean some more spending.

the philosophy is there for all to see , we're building a young talented team with players coveted by the so called big teams ...... if some of those youngsters leave it won't be because we didn't try to keep them .... so different from a few years ago .

I suggest you ask him to try cutting out fizzy drinks. Floating turds exposed to the air pong the most. They float because they contain more gas than sinkers. Thus with less gas the offending skatoles go straight to the bottom of the pan.

problem is all us fans who could see the good that NA had done and was doing even at the start of the season, when we were playing well but losing to the top teams, were called happy clappers and told that we are idiots who know nothing about football. we were told how the back 4 were awful and would continue to ship in at least 3 goals a games and go down with the fewest points total ever. i know i was given abuse by so called fans for supporting NA and the team. where are those `fans` now? oh yes thats right their the ones who booed guly.

I agree with you both. The way the team is shaping up it seems that with NCs investment background, he wants a young promising team that will either earn us more by being successful, or earn us more by selling them onto to richer clubs.. In the longer term.

yeah, your right about the selling on bit. sell some and integrate some into the first team.but I think that is as you say, more of a long term strategy.short term we need to try to stay in this league, and that might mean some more spending. ....but it's good being a saint aint it..........

Great being a saint, and the last three years have been so opposite to three before that!

the philosophy is there for all to see , we're building a young talented team with players coveted by the so called big teams ...... if some of those youngsters leave it won't be because we didn't try to keep them .... so different from a few years ago .

yeah, again I agree.I like the way we're being seen as a club that gives youngsters a chance. as It only enhances our chances if we're trying to bid for some younger talent as they can see whats happening here.not only that but the academy players will take heart from the fact that adkins aint frightened to put the younger players in.gives them something to strive for,and makes the less likely to want to leave.

exactly ..... nigel said from the outset that it's important to keep a route open from the academy to the first team ..... he's done a first class job so far .

mr adkins has indeed done a first class job,I'm still a bit bemused that some fans wanted to get rid.he Is still learning just like the players, but what he's achieved since he came here is really quite remarkable. I just love being a saint, after years of sh!t...... just look at us now !

knee jerk reactions from people who know little methinks , all true fans that i know are happy with our progress ...... good innit !

problem is all us fans who could see the good that NA had done and was doing even at the start of the season, when we were playing well but losing to the top teams, were called happy clappers and told that we are idiots who know nothing about football. we were told how the back 4 were awful and would continue to ship in at least 3 goals a games and go down with the fewest points total ever. i know i was given abuse by so called fans for supporting NA and the team. where are those `fans` now? oh yes thats right their the ones who booed guly.
i love being a saints fan and always have, even in tough times.

truth is that all proper fans are happy clappers .... that's our job after all .... to be slated on here for being positive about the team we love is beyond belief and i trust no one who does it !

I see, it's bash Osprey week is it, I guess there are other sites that are more worthy of my skills, this one has gone downhill big time. I may return if I see any improvement.
