Southampton RFC helped themselves to an early Christmas present with a bonus point win which should go some way to securing their Snows Group Hampshire 1 future.
Saints have only produced last season’s promotion wining form in patches for much of this term.
But they have kept their shape in the last couple of matches to move away from the relegation zone.
They followed up a satisfying victory over Millbrook with a 33-22 win over Farnborough at Test Park. It was the only league game scheduled for the weekend and went ahead despite torrential rain.
The successes have netted them nine points over the last two outings and puts them ten points ahead of second-from-bottom Petersfield.
