Yes there was this small time club to the east we could have brought it with that money and made it our reserve team. What you really hate is the fact your poxy little club could have been saved with that money but instead we took a chance on a South American who I think ultimately will become the reason why we stay up this year. Also helps that some of the other teams down the bottom with us are shocking

wrong gaston turnt spurs down ,probably thought he would not get in the team .with there squad is understandable ,we stll get better value then your lot paying 50.000 a week and 35.000 a week in the championship ,and we do get 13.000 more fans at home games .even at league one level .least we have many years of premiership football .you lot go on about the past ,but you wont see the premier league again in your life time,.if you see any leagues at all.the only reason your fans is buying the club is because other than chainry who wants is money back .no one else is interested .about your poor corrupted club .enough said

I thought after a poor first half we battled back well.
Two things though,
1) Why do we insist on putting ourselves under pressure by always passing the ball around at the back, sometimes it is prudent to get the ball forward quicker.
and 2) why is we refuse to shoot a bit sooner?.
Adkins said that we like to play football out from the back , true but not all of the time.
I thought the fans were great yesterday, there were the odd groans but the majority got everyone singing and supporting the team.
Did anyone else notice how Guly just walked off the pitch without waving to the fans at the end ?

Recently the DE did a report on how NA asked players what was going wrong. This can be looked at in 2 ways.
1) He is an inclusive manager who likes his players to think, work together and come up with solutions, bonding the team together
2) He is a clueless manager who is so desperate to find the answers he consults his players to find out

No doubt, as a positive thinker, you will go for No1 but both arguments have merit and substance. To be objective you must see the stars and the mud.

Wrong again, they are aeroplanes/aircraft, not airplanes. There are some decent aircraft in the Museum, including a Spitfire, one of the best aircraft in th World.

Wrong again, they are aeroplanes/aircraft, not airplanes. There are some decent aircraft in the Museum, including a Spitfire, one of the best aircraft in th World.

1) He is an inclusive manager who likes his players to think, work together and come up with solutions, bonding the team together
2) He is a clueless manager who is so desperate to find the answers he consults his players to find out

No doubt, as a positive thinker, you will go for No1 but both arguments have merit and substance. To be objective you must see the stars and the mud.

It wasn't a choice that had to be made Os, just an illustration of different points of view. I know that you were bound to choose No1 as you are a positive thinker (nothing misguided about that) and others will be negative (who are enitled to opinion too)
My colours and the tone of my previous posts have not changed so you will know that I like and admire NA very much but believe he lacks tactical and technical ability. Please give me the grace to know that I would never call him clueless. I haven't called for his head as we owe him time to get things right. I hope he learns but haven't seen much evidence of this. For example: (The mud) He insists on playing the same style of football even to the point that he plays players out of position to accomplish it. This, imo, weakens the side, makes us predictable and one dimensional hence we are not free scoring as we were. We have been worked out.
(The stars) Our defence has worked hard and have all stepped up as a unit and all credit to them and NA. We are not leaking goals as we were!
I don't doubt your support, Os, it is quite obvious and you are to be commended for it but please don't doubt mine because I am more critical and see things differently. I can assure you I am no less a supporter than you are.

Never doubted you for a minute, just me being argumentative as usual, I will never change, NA has been very frustrating this season, I support him all the way, but sometimes I have my doubts about whether what he does is for the best, and sometimes he gets it badly wrong, sometimes he is spot on with a tactic that is far from obvious, it's the mystery of it all that keeps me interested, but when they start waffling about 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-3- 2-1 e.t.c. I tend to lose the plot a bit. You are right about the defence, we were getting paranoid about the left back position earlier and the solution was in the camp all of the time, how many more gems are going to come through with similar success? Never doubted you for a minute, just me being argumentative as usual, I will never change, NA has been very frustrating this season, I support him all the way, but sometimes I have my doubts about whether what he does is for the best, and sometimes he gets it badly wrong, sometimes he is spot on with a tactic that is far from obvious, it's the mystery of it all that keeps me interested, but when they start waffling about 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-3- 2-1 e.t.c. I tend to lose the plot a bit. You are right about the defence, we were getting paranoid about the left back position earlier and the solution was in the camp all of the time, how many more gems are going to come through with similar success? We have more gems to come and I'd like to see JWP playing Saturday as he is a real fighter and make no mistake we will be in a fight against Stoke.
I'd have a bit more faith in NA if he mixed up the play for a bit. I would have taken Davis off, shifted Gaston to the middle where he's best and put Fox on the left wing to get direct and pump balls into the box. Rickie is lethal in the box but we hardly see him there! He hangs outside waiting to lay the ball off but as we don't penetrate down the wings and pull them out of position, the box is full of defenders waiting. No coincidence that we don't get penalties! As I've said before, the fancy football is great to watch but we don't have enough depth to sustain it and should concentrate on winning regardless. Play players where they're strongest.
Believe me if NA gets wise and starts to frustrate teams and collect points, nobody will be happier than me. I want him to succeed. Above all though, I want us to succeed. It's exciting though isn't it?

Recently the DE did a report on how NA asked players what was going wrong. This can be looked at in 2 ways.
1) He is an inclusive manager who likes his players to think, work together and come up with solutions, bonding the team together
2) He is a clueless manager who is so desperate to find the answers he consults his players to find out

No doubt, as a positive thinker, you will go for No1 but both arguments have merit and substance. To be objective you must see the stars and the mud.

If he is as clueless as you would have us believe, he will be found out in the next few months and like all failures will pay the ultimate penalty and no doubt you will be happy? If however he does listen to his Staff and reacts accordingly, I can only praise him for his initiative and if it works he will be regarded as something of a genius. Recently the DE did a report on how NA asked players what was going wrong. This can be looked at in 2 ways.
1) He is an inclusive manager who likes his players to think, work together and come up with solutions, bonding the team together
2) He is a clueless manager who is so desperate to find the answers he consults his players to find out

No doubt, as a positive thinker, you will go for No1 but both arguments have merit and substance. To be objective you must see the stars and the mud.

If he is as clueless as you would have us believe, he will be found out in the next few months and like all failures will pay the ultimate penalty and no doubt you will be happy? If however he does listen to his Staff and reacts accordingly, I can only praise him for his initiative and if it works he will be regarded as something of a genius. For example: (The mud) He insists on playing the same style of football even to the point that he plays players out of position to accomplish it. This, imo, weakens the side, makes us predictable and one dimensional hence we are not free scoring as we were. We have been worked out.
(The stars) Our defence has worked hard and have all stepped up as a unit and all credit to them and NA. We are not leaking goals as we were!

Never doubted you for a minute, just me being argumentative as usual, I will never change, NA has been very frustrating this season, I support him all the way, but sometimes I have my doubts about whether what he does is for the best, and sometimes he gets it badly wrong, sometimes he is spot on with a tactic that is far from obvious, it's the mystery of it all that keeps me interested, but when they start waffling about 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-3- 2-1 e.t.c. I tend to lose the plot a bit. You are right about the defence, we were getting paranoid about the left back position earlier and the solution was in the camp all of the time, how many more gems are going to come through with similar success? We have more gems to come and I'd like to see JWP playing Saturday as he is a real fighter and make no mistake we will be in a fight against Stoke.
I'd have a bit more faith in NA if he mixed up the play for a bit. I would have taken Davis off, shifted Gaston to the middle where he's best and put Fox on the left wing to get direct and pump balls into the box. Rickie is lethal in the box but we hardly see him there! He hangs outside waiting to lay the ball off but as we don't penetrate down the wings and pull them out of position, the box is full of defenders waiting. No coincidence that we don't get penalties! As I've said before, the fancy football is great to watch but we don't have enough depth to sustain it and should concentrate on winning regardless. Play players where they're strongest.
Believe me if NA gets wise and starts to frustrate teams and collect points, nobody will be happier than me. I want him to succeed. Above all though, I want us to succeed. It's exciting though isn't it?

Well you're entitled to your opinion I really would love to believe what you say but let's jut see time will tell he may well come good I'm just not holding my breath. What annoys me is how foreign players come in to this league taking the place of our home grown talent. What hope is there for our talent our national squad when these teams are full of foreign players. Look at all the top clubs full of foreign players its a disgrace. Leaving aside JWP we have in the under 21s a fantastic player Lloyd Isgrove. He has fantastic pace great control and an abundance of skill yet can't get in the team because of the likes Guly, Ramirez, Spider, Rodriguez, etc. if these plays were outstanding the position may be palatable but their not!!!!!!!

In the few games I saw him play I was impressed with his talking, it was non stop and he reminded me of a young Tony Adams. Definate potential and local lad, would nice to see him return improved and confident....... And would be free.

Stoke will be tough. They are not the ordinary team their Manager sells them as. They are bottom or near the bottom of the Fair Play League and will fight tooth and nail not to concede. I have posted that I am concerned about the Goalkeeping situation - and if we are relegated this is an area that we could have done something about. Gazza gave away 4 points vs Swansea and Norwich and Kelvin gave away 2 points on Saturday. A good Keeper get you 10 points extra a Season - We don't have that. This is not the blame game - this is where we need to improve to remain in the Premiership. You could argue that the Defence has cost lots of points and the way we played in the first 8 games. This area has been greatly improved and if you the Club buy a Top Quality Centre Half in the January Window - this will continue to strengthen the Team. There are further improvements needed to our developing Team. Until the penalty yesterday and despite all the pressure - I could not see the MIGHTY SAINTS scoring yesterday. we are talking premiership.. where england players are lucky to get a job. England are well over rated.. boring and over coached and lack management because of big head players and poncie big bossess. Nigel is a breath of fresh air in football and gaston can play where he likes.. it reminds me of the school play ground.. two best out front first and they pick it from there.
