Adkins tight lipped over Lallana injury

Adam Lallana
Saints manager Nigel Adkins is refusing to be drawn over the possibility of the club signing cover for the injured Adam Lallana in January.
The midfielder has missed the last two matches with knee ligament damage and is expected to be sidelined for some weeks yet.
Adkins would only confirm that he will not feature in tomorrow’s visit to Stoke, and was coy when asked about the possibility of a new signing as a short-term replacement for the absent captain.
However, the Saints boss did admit that, like all of the division’s other clubs, they will be looking to conduct some business during the transfer window.
“He’s not going to play against Stoke and that is all we’re going to talk about,” said Adkins, when asked for an update on Lallana.
“We are not going to speculate about anybody. It is fair to say in January all teams will be open for business.”
Saints have already been linked with a move for a new keeper next month, with Blackburn’s Paul Robinson rumoured to be attracting interest. Adkins was giving little away, though.
“There is speculation about everybody, I don’t know where it comes from half the time,” he said.

Brad Freidal would be a decent loan signing. But I'd rather keep Gazza in goal and Davis as back up.
Ramirez is struggling to replace Lallana on the left so would there be someone available who's as good as those two or better? No. I think a left winger is the least of our worries. Get a £10 million centre back in and we're sorted!

We have not created any clear cut chances since the reading game. The defence is doing well although a decent CB addition would still be welcome. Our fullbacks are superb and will keep getting better.
Paul Robinson!! Fock off! Lol!

I think we need 3-4 additions with LM/LW priority. Then box to box midfielder and a CB.

Well perhaps if they fed us a little bit of information, there wouldn't be the need to have to speculate and make thinks up! The mushroom effect is wearing a bit thin.

Business is best done behind closed doors - not in public with uncle Tom Cobbly throwing in their three halfpennys worth. It's more professional and reflects better on the club - and also doesn't give other clubs an udea where we consider our weaknesses or strengths to lie.

IMO there isn't much competition for places in our midfield. Cork, Morgan, Puncheon, Lallana and Ramirez are first choice and there isn't anyone else pushing them. Which I think is part of the reason goals are drying up. I also think part of the reason is we do miss Lallana, I don't believe we are a one man team but I think it's clear we don't have anyone to replace him.
Defence is a must but we need to add a bit more steel and creativity to our midfield. I would like to see us go back in for Matt Phillips.

Whether its the fact that he's on 4 yellow cards I don't knowbut the last few games he has played he seems to lack any form of determination and at times appears pedestrian. Cork is a good player but (apart from Fulham) is frightened to shoot! JWP would make a difference and I hope he starts against Stoke!
