Adkins hails "fantastic point"
6:22pm Saturday 29th December 2012 in Sport
Nigel Adkins at Stoke today.
Nigel Adkins hailed Saints’ draw at Stoke as “a fantastic point.”
The boss was delighted with a 3-3 draw at the Britannia Stadium despite seeing his side lose a 3-1 lead against ten men.
He said: “It’s a fantastic point away from home.
“You look at Stoke and the Britannia Stadium and they had only conceded three goals at home this season and we’ve scored three and could have scored more.
“It’s always a difficult place to come to, our supporters were great and first half it was only us you could hear because our game management was spot on.
“We came away from home and changed a few of the players around because we knew we’d have to deal with an aerial bombardment that would probably come and the players have been top drawer. We scored some really good goals.”

I would have taken a point before the game but was totally deflated at the end of the game
Now we need to go out and strengthen defensively
A new keeper and centre half please nigel
Then we can move onwards and upwards

Frustrated & annoyed, as the 3 points & 2 places higher than we are would have given us a big lift going into a hard game (again) on New Year's Day.
I will keep the faith, as ever, but hope that we can acquire another defender next month & be a bit more positive & aggressive (in a good way) at times.
Still, at least we haven't suffered back-to-back defeats against those footballing powerhouses, Crawley & Yeovil, & slipped to bottom of League 1 (after the 10 point deduction).

Gutted at the end but would have settled for a point at the start of the game. Short memories people short memories!!!!

..closer to heartbreaking considering we had 2 goal lead against 10 men who had lost their best defenders to bans...we could and should have ripped them apart once they started chasing the game.....is'nt that why we have players like Gaston on the bench.

Same old Adkins, always in denial I suppose he has to put a positive spin on another three points thown away to not let his boys see any negative vibes but in Nicola Cortese I trust and it will not be too much longer before we get someone at the helm who know's what they are doing. I'm afraid most of NA's subs selections this season have changed the games, but not the impact off the bench that he always harps on about but costing us the points in most of them. I wasn't at the game today but listened to it on Solent and in the second half it sounded like we just gave the ground again, sound familiar (Man U/ Man C etc..) and completely lost the initiative and then he takes off one of out most influential players who was doing very well in Jason Puncheon and leaves Ricky Lambert on who's name was barely mentioned in the second half and even Dave Merrington was saying that he did not work hard enough to close down. I know I will get plenty of stick from the loyalists but I'm sorry guys I just dont think that NA is the man to take the club forwards and if we dont get anything against Arsenal and are still in the drop zone I hope NC takes decisive action before its too late.

Adkins positivity has become comical. We've slipped into the relegation zone today after throwing away a 2 goal lead against 10 man Stoke, unless I'm mistaken.

I agree with must of the comments about NA sub selection this is a massive lost of 2 points that should have been 3 and we keep doing it back in the bottom 3 not a place to start the new year in game in hand and we all know who and where that cant see us gettng any thing form that game.

Davis should have come on for Guly in the last 10 minutes to strengthen the midfield defensively (given that we allowed ourselves to defend deep anyway in the latter stages). The Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis trio worked well together against Fulham.
Adders is still struggling with tactical substitutions. Maybe we need Di Matteo as manager but that seems unlikely to happen with the January window about to open.

a rare goal in the 90th minute was thbe reason most of us are angry at adkins.. however the commentators said no goalie would have saved that. I think adkins plans worked well. However, he does need to sort out his substitutions..'. about 15 - 20 mins in to the 2nd half, s.davis and d.fox(?) should have come on for guly and lambert (he seemed to be tiring. formation should have been changed to 4-5-1 with the same back 4, (from left mid) fox, spider, cork, davis, punch.. and j-rod up top. with 5 or so mins left i think richardson should have come on for punch on the right helping us to hold out. Any1agree???

Sorry chaps but as you know football is all about opinions and I said the loyalists would be upset. As you can see from my posts (Velleity you really need to get a life) I am not a fan of Nigel Adkins and like I said in NC I trust. There is too much at stake to fail this season after all the progress that has been made (should have won two championships) there I go being negative again but Nicola will do the right thing.
Villa, qpr, fulham and reading are worse than us and we have the coffers to improve.

Take away the fact we were 1-3 up at half time, I thought we would get sod all from today's game so i'm happy with the point. Still gutted about the Sunderland game which we really needed to get something from.
Oh well we'll just have to beat the Arse at home instead who are conceding loads but scoring as well so should be another cracker!!

I'm afraid Kelvin is the original 'dodgy keeper'.
Yashida out of position can't play right back
Shaw - good but looks tired understandably. I think Fox will not come back into the team and sadly we will see less of Shaw.
Spider - another anonymous performance - poor.
Cork - the best of the midfield but played a number of wayward passes. Pleased he had another shot!!
Guly - at least he tried. Missed a sitter. No more than a good Championship player.
Rodriguez - didn't notice him!!!
Lambert - no doubt was out to impress Pulis as I've heard he's interested in buying Lambert in January however became his usual lazy self second half.
One thing that was apparent at least Saints can score without Ramirez who was on the bench and never came on!!!! Has NA realised that this 'flop' flatters to deceive?
The bench was peculiar what the hell was Disk Ridder there again was it because he threw his toys out the pram because he was left out on Boxing Day? Why does NA persist with Davis to the exclusion of JWP?
It seems that NA rewards mediocrity by continuously playing players who are not and never will be premier league quality!
The time had come for NA to pack up his tent and leave. He's had his chance in the top flight and has failed. Saints will be relegated and we need somewhat at the helm who is tactically aware and knowledgable and who's not frightened to make decisions for fear of upsetting people!

Just got back from the game - what a disappointment! I thought we would be hammered but I'm pleased I was proved wrong there were some improvements today albeit only minor. What was disappointing was the way in which Saints soon began to replicate Stokes game I.e. hoofing long ball up front. Fonte, Hoovield and Yashida played 'hot potato' for most of the match.

Disappointment at the 90th minute equaliser is understandable. Gloom over the result isn't.
What's more we've got a home match against Arsenal to look forward to on New Year's day. Just two years ago on Jan 1st we were also at home...to Exeter.
Some achievement....some manager!

If anyone wants to see a headless chicken running around watch KD ..... frightens me every time a cross comes in!
Disappointed with the draw but admittedly thought that was the best we would get today.

Disappointment at the 90th minute equaliser is understandable. Gloom over the result isn't.
What's more we've got a home match against Arsenal to look forward to on New Year's day. Just two years ago on Jan 1st we were also at home...to Exeter.

"Well Nige, if you genuinely want whats best for Southampton football club then its time to pack your bags and get back on the bus."
"All the best for the future now please NC get Hoddle in before its too late."
"and Adkins if he does'nt up his game will be looking for a new job before xmas"
"it was embarrassing not brilliant to watch and if we ever play that poorly again we will get well and truly spanked"
"Personally I think we will be lucky to make the play offs at this rate because we are so poor and everyone around us are finding form."
"What a pathetic, embarrassing performance, our players look out on their feet and clueless, what the f..k is going on Adkins."
Not a single positive comment in any thread in the first two pages of results. Those go back well into last season. Never a SINGLE positive post...
Guly,What do you think it is? 1st time I saw him my opinion wasn't positive but to be honest I'm on the fence and feel there is something he could bring to the team.
I don't think he's a wing player, more of a typical no10, but so is lambert and Ramirez IMO, and I know who'd I'd rather have.

Wise after the event is easy. At 1500 most of us would have been surprised/alarmed at the selection. By 1510 most would have been surprised at the tactics. Before half time, the selection and the tactics, both a big change in direction, were obviously genius at work. Well done NA.
Gully played well, both in attack and in defence, including helping to give Shaw better cover than he has had in most games this season. Just about all the Stoke attack came down their right and it wasn’t until late on that they started to get lots of balls in from that wing. But for a late glorious long range strike we would have won and the brave selection and tactics would have, rightly, been seen as a great piece of management.
We didn’t ‘throw it away’ – Stoke took the win from us and deserve a lot of credit – there are two teams on the pitch.
We definitely did need to go with three centre halves when Crouch came on – Richardson on was the right substitution. All three substitutions were perfectly sensible at the time they were made although the others could be argued with the benefit if hindsight.
We should have reverted to our passing game when in possession once they went down to 10 men – that’s the only way to make it an advantage. Not sure if it was the players or the management team’s fault that we kept to the same tactics that worked well until then.
But overall it was a brave piece of management and well executed by the players for most of the game. As always, it’s a fine dividing line – Guly scores and we would have been home and dry at 4-1. He misses and they go up the other end and score.
I thought KD didn’t punch enough at the near post against Jones when and crosses came in from their right – too much flapping at it - but otherwise the defence did OK. Guly and Cork played well, as did Lambert in the first half.

Some fans are very quick to criticise, yet offer no praise where praise is deserved.
Most of us would have taken this point this morning, and although I'm disappointed with losing a 3-1 lead, I would offer credit to Stoke for the way they set about earning their point and keeping their amazing home record intact.
Stoke had seized the game way before NA made his substitutions and I felt JP was tiring and becoming less effective. Shaw's substitution at a late stage of a game is almost a given.
Honestly thought we'd hold out at 3-2 but the equalizer was unstoppable.
Sure, we need to strengthen...but I really think there are at least three weaker teams in the PL right now. I think we'll be ok on today's showing.

Adkins did right to keep his men fighting to the end - if they had tried to sit back on that lead Stoke would have crushed them. Sorry about that Nzonzi challenge but at least he missed your man. Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Man City couldn't win at Stoke this season either. And they only scored two goals in total between the lot of them.
Disappointment at the 90th minute equaliser is understandable. Gloom over the result isn't.
What's more we've got a home match against Arsenal to look forward to on New Year's day. Just two years ago on Jan 1st we were also at home...to Exeter.
Some achievement....some manager!
Guly and Cork played well, as did Lambert in the first half.

we go away to Stoke and put 3 past them. Did any of you read ANY of the prematch reports talking about how hard Stoke have been to score against at home? About their home record?
We just went there and nearly doubled the amount of goals they have conceded at home. We've ended their record. AND we forced them to come from behind for the draw - and the equaliser was a wonder goal that will happen to any team at any time.
And you sit there and demand NA's head for that? really? I suppose those of you who demand this are expecting Saints to qualify for Europe and to be knocking in ten goals a match without conceding any.
I'm actually holding back on just how hacked off these really really dumb comments have made me - I just know that theres no point because if you are stupid enough to post rubbish like this then you are stupid enough to not listen and watch and see what is going on at Saints.
We had what was widely regarded as the most difficult start to the season for any team - and we forced the top sides in the Premiership to come from behind to beat us. The Arsenal match was horrible - but that happens to every team once in a while. Our manager despite all the crap thrown at him has remained positive and upbeat - why? BECAUSE THAT IS HIS JOB. He needs to motivate those players and keep them coming back to the pitch no matter what and he's doing a fantastic job of it. Would you prefer he stand there like Mark Hughes and be negative? I guarantee you that if he did that we would be at the bottom of the table with QPR.
It's all very well for you armchair managers to sit there and childishly demand his head when the result doesn't go the way you want it to go, but at the end of the day this manager is giving Southampton everything and making sure that his team hear good positive things no matter what the result. And you can't see why that is a good thing and why that means he is doing a good job then you are a bloody fool.
So do us all a favour - we understand that you are entitled to your opinion. But if it is so negative and ill informed that all you can do is sit there and bleat 'oh he's rubbish sack him' then please don't bother.
Because that puts you at the level of the idiots from down the road who just post on here to get a reaction.

Even last season you could tell that with just a one goal lead late in the game we would start to flap. Our style of play when we're two goals up is completely different from when we're one up.
Our back four start hoofing, the midfield panics and whoever's up front stands alone.
One thing the team needs to work on is the attitude that if our normal style of play has us a goal ahead after 80 mins then continuing that style of play will probably carry on working. Let the team that's behind flap, not us.
If there's an area NA needs to work on, it's that. We should look the same whatever the score. If we think our tactics are good, why not stick to them. If we're a goal up leave it to our opponents to be tense, not us.

good luck for the rest of the season and hope you can beat all of the teams around us but lose to us at our place.
Some of our new fans seem to think we have the god given right to expect more. If you support Man U or Man City then coming second is disappointing. If you support Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs not making the Champions League is disappointing. The likes of Stoke and Wigan have established themselves in the top flight and they look to beat newly promoted teams like ourselves.
There are 19 other clubs, 19 other chairmen and managers, 19 other sets of fans who want more - it's time for some realism.
In the 3 years since Admin we have won the JPT and had back to back promotions. It has been done before but it's rare and an amazing achievement.
We tried the managerial merry go round before, many times, and it didn't work then. Let's try stability - it's worth a go as our greatest period came during such a spell as did those of other teams.

Back on topic, one of the problems I think we have is that many of our team have had a run over the past couple of seasons where a huge proportion of games were "turn up, go two up, relax".

Well, I thought it was a great game and the potters did score four and a half of the six goals. But the saints played well and attacked Stoke like we have not seen at the Brit for a while. Adkins did right to keep his men fighting to the end - if they had tried to sit back on that lead Stoke would have crushed them. Sorry about that Nzonzi challenge but at least he missed your man. As you saw today, anyone who wriyes off Stoke is asking for trouble .
what some of our newer fans forget when they moan at NA is the fact that it was his team that he picked and his tactics that put us in such a good position. even some of the `big teams` would be happy with a draw at stoke, even with 10 men.
NA showed some real courage to change the team around and play a different game today, and it nearly worked.
our moaners have been boooing guly at home games and saying that jrod is a waste of money, yet they were 2 of our better players today, but the moaners wont see that. they moan when NA subbs rickie, and today moan because he didnt! i do wish some of our `fans` would remember that we are not mancity or chelsea, we are not going to win every game. and a point against stoke away from home is a good point, regardless of being 3-1 up against 10 men.
good luck for the rest of the season and hope you can beat all of the teams around us but lose to us at our place.

On the way back. Cracking point, proud of the lads. We took the game to them and bossed the first half, physically as well. Thought the team selection strange but it was genius. Gully played well but missed the chance to seal it. Towards the end we were under the cosh and Nige stiffened it up but a wonder strike levelled it.

In the end I went to bed heart broken with the loss of the lead but very happy and proud with the point..
Loved the game which did the sport credit in every way - a ding dong battle. We were very very lucky with the ref.
Stoke were immense with KJ playing out of his skin and Luke plain as day knackered (played his big heart out) twice missing the ball had to be replaced by Fox
Then with them hoofing it to bean-pole Crouchy and Punch (looking tired) in the second half Richardson was a sensible option to me.
Yes the whole of the league manage 2 goals at Britannia (a a cup goal I think) until we came along with the best fans in the country and get 3.
Well Done Saints well done as all of you played your hearts out.. and the fans sang their's out too.
Now celebrate football and put the whining to bed. That was the entertaining game we love with all it's ups and downs..
Cheers Nigel and Thanks Saints and Stoke for delivering the Sport... Loved it!

Second goal went under him, but he had no chance against the Jerome wonder shot though.
Highlights give a false impression, I know, but KD looked OK apart from one punch that he seemed totally to miscue.
Their third could have ended up hitting the corner post but was, as you say, unstoppable.

I cannot believe some of the rubbish being put on this website tonight.
we go away to Stoke and put 3 past them.
Ok so we are back in the relegation zone - so what. one win and we aren't. BE POSITIVE ABOUT IT.
Get behind the team, & stay there.
They are better with our support than without.
(Just look at Nottarf Krap yesterday for proof of that).
We can & I believe will beat Arsenal, & we will stay up.
COYR!

Spot on. He won't get another goal like that for the rest of his career. Can't believe we still have the Guly and J Rod knockers on here today. We do need to sign new players, we do not need to sign a new manager.
Adkins is NOT just saying the right thing to keep people happy. He is putting a positive spin on everything. because (once again) THAT IS HIS JOB.
Managers like Fergie can afford to be openly critical in the media because 1) they are safe in their job and 2) they know that their sqaud will respond to that.
This squad is in its first season back in the Premier League. I guarantee you that if they saw NA being negative about them in the media it would be reflected on the pitch.
Those lads have taken some real stick both on and off the pitch this season, but the one constant for them is that their manager has remained positive about how things are going.
If you cannot see the value in that and why it is one of the many things that makes Adkins a superb manager who thoroughly deserves to be where he is then you a blind, do not understand management of people and you really should think twice about posting.
I said in a previous post on this thread that we are one win away from being out of the relegation zone. Well I'd like to add - one draw and we are two places out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
We are not in that bad a position and people should not panic just because we are currently in the relegation zone. the season isn't over yet. We have time to get out.
Of course we would all like to see Saints 2-3 spots above the zone, with points in hand but it's not turning out like that this season so far. So what. the team, and the manager deserve our full support right until the end of the season. And if we do go down? again so what? we'll take on board the lessons we learned this season, sort the squad out and we'll be back. This football season is not the last season on earth. It's not the end of the world if we get relegated (although it will be very annoying).
Adkins, like the whole squad is learning his trade in the Premier League for the first time. You appear to be demanding instant perfection from him - well that ain't going to happen. Nobody is perfect.
Just sit back, enjoy the ride, understand that it is going to get bumpy from time to time and if you go to the match, sing your heart out.
Because that's what the team need from you as a supporter. And you will be contributing 100% more than you are right now.

I tuned in with trepidation after 15 mins, expecting that the first words from Dave Merrington would be "What we don't want to do now is---," only to find Saints were 1-1.
They were apparently playing well and the commentary seemed very excited for once.
Saints 3-1 at half time was great.
Can they keep it up second half?
The answer was NO as usual. Unfortuately, sounded like Guly missed a sitter again when we so needed it, then we immediatley conceeded.
Totally deflated at this point, don't it always happen.
Bring on the Stoke barrage then the wonder goal just for fun.
IT'S HARD BEING A SAINTS SUPPORTER, always has been.
Anyway 1 point was better than I expected.
Bring on Arsenal.
Will be there expecting the worse hoping for the best.
Got plenty of throat lozenges ready for after the match.
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE 'EM

What do you guys want - a negative manager? That would really help the players feel confident. If you guys ever watch any other results instead of Pompey's you would know that Stoke put Liverpool to the sword after conceding the first goal. We have only lost 2 of the last 9. Two months ago we would have lost that match. Have a sense of perspective for heaven's sake. Maybe some of you need to stop posting so much and get some sunshine. Just out of interest, when was the last time we scored a "wonder goal"? It occurs to me that we need to sharpen up on our long range efforts.

Apart from the fact that making negative comments would be plain daft, the results justify Nigel's positive approach.
Arsenal's big win yesterday will hopefully leave them feeling a little complacent about Tuesday's encounter. Whatever happens, Nigel looks happier when he's miserable than Wenger looks even when he is happy.
Theo's hat trick yesterday only managed to bring his goal tally up to equal Rickie's. Meantime Rickie's scored more than Aguero, Mata, Rooney, Tevez and Torres.

Saints can't let them have time and space on the ball. They will have to work extremely hard to achieve this.
They also cannot afford like their first 10 games to play the suicide game when both teams take it in turns to take pot shots at the goal.
Another reason for this is that Kelvin is liable to ship goals. Number 2 goal yesterday was preventable.
WE DO NEED A TOP CLASS KEEPER TO REMAIN IN THIS LEAGUE.
10 million is OK to spend - 10 points saved per Season. At the moment due to some dodgy keeping we return to the bottom three and it's all avoidable. The margins are that close in this League and we need a premium goal stopper.
Aim must be to WIN against Arsenal 1-0 and give them a torrid time on the pitch.
Crowd will play their part and need them to be noisy and intimidating at ST MARY'S to turn the place into a fortress.
WE ARE SOUTHAMPTON. COYR.

I said we had to bolster the defence/defenders & again was hammered for saying it.
Now this shows we do need a decent goalie who can catch a ball who comes out to take crosses & who can orchestrate our new defence into an effective unit.
But now comes the dodgy bit! Why did we sit back on a 2 goal lead against 10 men?
Why not pin them in their area by attacking them?
Surely by now Adkins knows the defence isn't strong enough( capable) of sitting back & soaking up constant pressure?
If he doesn't then maybe he isn't the man to lead us any more?
Can't wait to see if & who he buys in the Transfer window?

Settle for what you get.
Always hope it will get better.
Accept what you cannot change.
It is not blind faith happy clapping to do the only thing you can to help, support the team and everything that goes with it.
Hoping to get relegated to be proved right, that is not supporting.
The England goalie let in 3 at one end and an England squad goalie let in 4.
Quite a few international defenders made basic mistakes, not just in that game.
Watch MotD and see some of the worst defending highlighted, and then tell me which of those you want to buy to replace any of the guys we have giving their all!!!!
If the rumours about Ricky are true and an offer is made that is too good to turn down, I fully expect that the replacement would be of a higher quality.
That would mean somebody who has scored more than him.
This means that the offer for Ricky would have to be ridiculous!
Funny old game football.

From the point of view we should be taking, we should be disgusted that the team went 3-1 up and then sat back and conceded 2 more. This was partially the players fault for sitting back, but mainly Nigel's for sending on two defenders whose job is to sit back and invite the other team onto them, and taking off two attacking player pull the team forward and attack. Remember, ATTACK IS THE BEST FORM OF DEFENCE.
If you don't want to attack and then risk being caught on the counter attack, you can sit back. However, the Saints defence is not good enough to sit back. Because Nigel is intent on using this tactic we must improve the defence in the January transfer window quickly, preferably before the arrival of Chelsea at the weekend.
Saints must stop dropping goals thus points when being one or two goals up, or we will get relegated.

To be 2 goals up at half time was beyond anyone's wildest expectations.
It was a shame to see the Saints dissolve into chaos as the second half progressed.
Playing with a goal advantage against a desperate and passionate 10 men, a team needs to play an on-ground crisp one-touch passing game with front players prepared to keep and shield the ball to attract a foul. If Saints had been able to play this way and had still conceded a one-off speculative goal - then I would have had to have been happy with the second half performance against one of the current form teams.
Sadly, there was little evidence of any leadership within the team - I sat there watching, desperate for at least one player to take responsibility - to demand the ball to be passed to him - to show confidence in controlling the ball and play off a simple accurate pass and then move into space for the return - in fact basic football skills really.
When Danny Fox came on, his first 3 passes were played to feet and I hoped that the rest of the team could have followed his example..... but no.
A large number of passes were delivered through the air and were aimlessly headed on - the player being reluctant to control with his chest.
Unfortunately Kelvin Davies was out-muscled in his own box and seemed to lose his self confidence as the game went on. At the other end vital chances were wasted through a lack of self composure.
Watching the game on the other side of the world, I could sense the whole team deteriorating into a state of blind panic - no doubt it was very clear to the Stoke players as well. It was only a matter of time before the Stoke psychological dominance would be translated into goals - I think ultimately they were unlucky not to win the game.
In reflection, I view Stoke as the team that Saints should aspire to emulate in the short term. There are clear similarities between the skill levels of the respective players - however Stoke has demonstrated this season that it is the toughest team in the Prem to be dominated over for 90 minutes.
So where to from here for the Saints? Clearly for this season the squad can not be dramatically improved either in the personnel or in its overall skill levels. Other than perhaps a fit Adam Lallana, I don't believe there is a player who would be an automatic choice on the first team sheet for most of the other Prem clubs.
Nigel Adkins has an interesting challenge ahead of him and for my part his success will not be judged on whether he is able to prevent relegation this season with the present squad, but rather can he instill a consistent self belief and team spirit within the players that will prevent the sort of second half disaster that happened at Stoke.

I cannot believe some of the rubbish being put on this website tonight.
we go away to Stoke and put 3 past them.
Ok so we are back in the relegation zone - so what. one win and we aren't. BE POSITIVE ABOUT IT.

Frankly we can hold our heads high after that. A few errors that need work on the training pitch, but we went there and took the game to Stoke.
Got away with at least one stone cold hand ball - frankly with some of the decisions that have gone against us I'll take that.
The equaliser from Stoke - Well they call them wonder goals for a reason.
He's just hammered it goalwards and its gone in - how many times have you seen a player do that and the ball has ended up waking up grandad in the back row? It's a bit of a lucky goal - he's just smacked it as hard as he can at the goal, it could have gone anywhere, just unfortunate for us it went in.

This was the first time this season that he varied his game tactics and, first half, they paid off but he then changed to a defensive line up that invited pressure which was fatal. All we needed to do was retain the ball. NA wants to play a certain way so emulating Stoke will not be possible unless he changes his point of view.

Some of my concerns are
a) We never get to the byline in open play
b) Rickie hardly plays in the penalty box even though he is absolutely deadly there.
c) We don't seem to have anyone who can cross from the right
d) We don't shoot from outside the box
e) As you say we have no leader on the field who can look at the game tactically and change things.
We have players in the squad who are capable, and can survive this season but they need to be played in the right way and this is my biggest concern.
