Saints' relegation rivals boost their squads

Roberto Martinez
Saints’ relegation rivals Wigan this morning completed the loan signing of Angelo Henriquez from Manchester United.
The move will see 18-year-old Chilean Henriquez join Wigan for the rest of the current season.
Henriquez was brought in by United last summer from Universidad de Chile and has already made his full international debut, with Latics manager Roberto Martinez hoping he can make a big contribution over the coming months.
Wigan are in a familiar position of battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League and lost 4-0 to United yesterday, with Saints dropping them into the bottom three after gaining a point against Arsenal.
Henriquez could make his Wigan debut in Saturday's FA Cup third-round home clash with in-form League One side Bournemouth.
He becomes the second mid-season recruit by Wigan, who confirmed the signing of Honduran midfielder Roger Espinoza from Sporting Kansas City last month and are waiting for the Honduras international to obtain a visa.
Reading, meanwhile, are close to signing Australia international Tom Rogic.
Playmaker Rogic, 20, has shone for the Central Coast Mariners and is due to reach the end of his contract in May.
He came close to joining Reading in 2011 when the Berkshire club failed to secure a work permit for him.

Not sure where Dave Whelan and his money comes into it, they consistently sell for more than they buy season in and season out.
The Sun says that Wigan have signed Houdini! - get the story right Echo!!
Nothing against Martinez, but the sooner Wigan go back where they belong the better.
No history, no supporters, just Dave Whelan's fat cheque-book.
I'd rather watch Portsmouth than Wigan - or is that going too far?

They buy well, sell better and make a profit. Good to watch too!
I'd only like to see them go down if it was a choice between us and them.
Right now, I'd prefer to see QPR ( obviously because of twitchy) Reading ( live locally, and went in corporate to see the Wet Spam game last week-plastic club, music when they score etc..) and A shock team like Villla or Sunderland go down...

I don't think we will be making any big signings in January.... and that's just fine by me. I think the existing squad will keep us up .. and some. I think it's more likely there will be more spending ahead of next season.
