Even a ‘300 per cent’ improvement from Trojans was not enough for victory as the lowly London 1 South side lost out in cruel fashion at the weekend.

Boosted by the announcement of a new coach and the return of several senior players, Trojans looked like bagging four precious points as they held a narrow advantage over visitors Haywards Heath with seconds to go.

But a last-kick-of-the-match penalty put a cloud over a much-improved performance from the Stoneham Lane side and Trojans had to settle for a losing bonus point from the 14-13 defeat.

A minute’s silence preceded kick off as both sides showed their respect for well-known Havant coach Mick Chalk B.E.M, who died suddenly days before Christmas.
