Who do you rate as Southampton's best ever January signing?

WHO is the best ever January transfer window signing by Saints ?

And which player is the biggest mid-season flop at St. Mary’s.

The January transfer window began 10 years ago, in 2003, with £2.5m David Prutton the club’s first big January window arrival.

Other successes, or big name signings, have since included the likes of Marek Saganowski, Jose Fonte, Jason Puncheon, Jamie Redknapp and Nigel Quashie.

But what about those that have failed to set St Mary’s alight?

The likes of Lee Molyneux, Federico Arias and Callum Davenport.

Let us know your selections as Saints’ best and worst January window signings in the comment section below...

This article shows we've basically never signed a really really decent player in January! Time to amend that one. I am a fan of Puncheon though, he's been good this season. Prutton deserves some special mention for his 10 game ban. That was quite unique.

Wikipedia say Neil Ruddock signed in February, close enough, how we could do with a similar signing now.

Pahars was signed around about this time of season, after being declined a work permit 16 times. Surprised noone has mentioned him

Sign up the 2 Bradford defenders. Lot cheaper than the Italian. A goal apiece Saturday and they will have paid their fee. Only drawback I can think of is NC would probably rather be in Italy than Bradford.

We go to Villa for the win. What's for sure is we mustn't lose. But we want the three points and this is the right time to go. I shall be there cheering them on as always and supporting the manager and staying to the end.

agreed.

The players on the pitch will be fully supported and so with the Manager for as long as he is with the Club.

Only fear is that mack chinnon does not go too Brighton or Bore-Mouth on us lol.

Mack was in the Joshua Tree with all the other Saints fans last weekend. He does not go to bore-mouth or take it up the ****!

I don't sponsor the manager anymore. NC decided to not bother with it this season. £10k lost for no good reason, not alot in the life of a prem club but every little helps. I might sponsor the skunts instead.

Here Here...Sharpie got us over the line and into the Prem with his goals in crucial games.

His energy gave us that impetus to keep us in the top two all season when our energy levels could have wavered, a couple of losses to lesser sides (eg Doncaster at home - Sharp banged in 2) may have deflated us and quick slide could have occured
