IT’S their opportunity to start the year on a high and ride the crest of a wave of success that is sweeping across the Hampshire marine industry.
From tomorrow a range of Hampshire firms will be exhibiting their stock at this year’s London Boat Show.
After the success of 2012’s PSP Southampton Boat Show dozens of firms from across the county will be at the show in the capital’s ExCel over the coming week.
Also at tomorrow’s opening day Sir Ben Ainslie will be flying the flag for Hampshire when he unveils his new America’s Cup Chase boat.
And at 2.30pm he will be showing that he’s a dedicated follower of fashion when he discusses his range of clothes for the Henri Lloyd Ben Ainslie collection.
He will also be taking part in the first Fine Art Sails UK regatta on the Royal Victoria Docks, right outside the show.
The show sees 500 firms displaying a large array of yachts, dinghies and other sailing paraphernalia, with many from Hampshire.
Murray Ellis, managing director of National Boat Shows, said: “The 2013 Tullett Prebon London Boat Show has been designed to help exhibitors and visitors alike achieve their objectives.
“We have a strong line up of Hampshirebased companies such as Arbor Yachts, Hamble Point Yacht Charters, Pure Latitude and Stormforce Coaching, confirmed to exhibit this year.
“Our aim is to offer our exhibitors return on investment and provide a great selling opportunity in January.
“We’re confident of a successful show this year, for our visitors, exhibitors and the industry as a whole.
“The show is known for being a great day out and it really does offer something for everybody, whether you are a keen boater or just want to enjoy a fun day out with the family.
“This year will also see the international launch of several multi-million pound yachts.”
The show runs until January 20.
