Ba and Torres fit to face Saints

Daily Echo: Fernando Torres Fernando Torres

Chelsea strikers Demba Ba and Fernando Torres are available for tomorrow's Premier League clash with Southampton following their struggle with a hamstring injury and illness respectively.

John Terry's comeback from a knee problem will continue, although he is short of match fitness and is unlikely to start at Stamford Bridge.

Nigeria duo John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses are unavailable as they are at the African Nations Cup.

Provisional squad: Cech, Turnbull, Azpilicueta, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Bertrand, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Marin, Torres, Ba, Ake.

I will be delighted with a point. Chelesea are an underperforming world class team, we need them to have an off night. A win would be amazing and we do have the players who can score.
Oh well .. lets see how it goes.. get out there and dont be intimnidated !!

SAINTS READY FOR ANYTHING

Southampton strikers Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez are both expected to be on top form for tomorrows clash with one of the big budget London Clubs.

Saints Latin connection of Gaston Ramirez and Guilherme Do Prado will be out to show their respective skills and hope to prove themselves against the club often described as a Russian plaything.

Meanwhile as rumours emerge of incoming reinforcements to lift the Southampton defence time dictates that Saints will have to run with the lanky Jos Hooiveld and the Bicycle kick specialist Maya Yoshida in the central defence with Scotland International Left back Danny Fox and England U21 Right Back Nathaniel Clyne making up the back line.

After a solid performance which included one of the best saves this season in football all speculation of doubt should be dispelled with Artur Boruc a certainty to start in goal.

As Arsenal and other continue to hover over the training ground to poach new talent Saints fans have been buoyed but yet another youngster being picked for England Honours. Congratulations to Ryan Seager originally from Yeovil now a Saint and now set to take centre stage for England U17s next month.

Good Luck Saints and Good Luck to travelling fans who are again expected to demonstrate the loudest voices in league football.

COYR.

PS Hey Please Dear Mr Editor: I'm no journo but this is the kind of story we'd like in the Southampton paper... not bits from Chelsea, Aston Villa etc... keep it simple local and supportive where possible please.

Another torrid month ahead for the red and white. Possibly no points from the Chelsea and Everton games followed maybe by a couple of draws from the other games. 'Arry' is making some progress in buying a couple of good players and his team are harder to beat now. He has added a couple of decent players in the last few days, slowely but surely on you lot.
