Nigel Adkins left a note to Saints players after being sacked by Nicola Cortese and replaced by Mauricio Pochettino

Adkins' farewell message to players
NIGEL Adkins left Saints with his dignity intact and a message of encouragement to the squad.
After being sensationally sacked by chairman Nicola Cortese after a run of just two losses in 12 Premier League games, Adkins told his players in a note: "Keep smiling. Have faith and belief that you are doing the right thing. Keep looking to improve."
There were also reports today claiming the first Adkins knew about his sacking was when he heard it on the television.

Anyone can add up a few figures with a calculator and use an accountant for other more complex financial affairs.
At the end of the day it is balance sheet every company has to produce.
Forgetting to inform your manager he has been fired before the press knew about it shows a complete failure in the business!

In NC's world there is little room for sentiment and the man will succeed. It may not be our way but it's his.
In a way, he has done Nigel a favour by sacking him now. He leaves with an impressive record , respect and prestige. No relegation or string of poor results to harm his cv.Think about it.

Anyway, Adkins will do well, but now unfortunately not with Southampton. He has no need to sign up to a 'dead-end' job (ie Blackpool), but can wait for a club with (as was the job that enticed him from Scunthorpe) potential to grow from where it currently is (Villa would seem ideal??). But I belief he'll do the national team well some day.
It'll be very interesting to see what happens on Monday - may I suggest the chant: We need Mourinho, we've just the physio.
