They're winners, and I believe that This slightly ruthless approach is what our great football club needs to fullfil it's potential. No need to apologise. These people didn't buy us for the prestige of owning a football club. They're winners, and I believe that This slightly ruthless approach is what our great football club needs to fullfil it's potential. Soton is a great city, but we are known by some as the sleepy city. This kind of dynamism we have lacked, and will be a key ingredient for achieving success. I reckon all the above posts are right on the ball. The first game for MP was exciting and we shall see more progress, though probably NOT in the next game!!

I really hope Nigel Adkins lands a good club but probably in the Championship.

We must not underestimate what is needed in the Premier League.

Only a fool would cash in now with the club worth a fraction of what it will be worth once the second Premier season is secured. He ain't no fool, he also isn't in this for the football, he is purely in it for the money. I don't necessarily agree with Matt and the ego-thing by the way..

Anyone would get the impression he's in it for the long-haul. I think the five-year plan was merely the start and all it meant was getting back to the Premier League. Sadly for Nigel, I think this is all Nicola wanted him for.

But the higher up we get the more of a buzz Nicola will get out of this. I can't imagine he needs the money, so for him it's about the challenge of building something truly epic.

I don't think the numbers really add up for that. He's spent (I'm guessing here) £20m buying the club out of admin and another £40m on players and, say, £10m on the academy. Even if he sells us next year as a Premier League club he wouldn't get £70m for us.

Nigel spent a record amount of money for a Southampton manager, with these buys ending up either shipped out(Sharp), missing (Lee) or warming the bench (most of them). Clyne, Yosh and Gaston were the only players to cement regular first team places. This demonstrates a lot of his buys have not worked out. I still don't understand what Nigel's vision or plan was.

I do know however that it is NC who has guided us to our present status, we wouldn't be talking about PL football without him, and so I back him.

He will advise the estate of the Liebherrs at the right time and if they agree they will get a stupendous return on the initial investment and he will get a monumental bonus for his services. He can't recommend this until the sky money jackpot is secured. Once it is, he will work feverishly to line up buyers well in advance of any sale. Only a fool would cash in now with the club worth a fraction of what it will be worth once the second Premier season is secured. He ain't no fool, he also isn't in this for the football, he is purely in it for the money. I don't necessarily agree with Matt and the ego-thing by the way..

I don't think the numbers really add up for that. He's spent (I'm guessing here) £20m buying the club out of admin and another £40m on players and, say, £10m on the academy. Even if he sells us next year as a Premier League club he wouldn't get £70m for us.

I do tend to agree with MGRA (although I don't tend to believe sale is planned quite so soon).

All the investment is part of a long term plan to add value to the Club...see us to another level and cash in when the timing is right.

As fans, we can only enjoy the ride... we will go places with the Don at the helm. What happens after is anyones guess. What is almost certain...is that we won't be following the Poopey model.
