RICKIE LAMBERT
THERE was no dream call-up for Saints striker Rickie Lambert, the Premier League's joint top-scoring Englishman this season, when Roy Hodgson named his squad for next Wednesday’s glamour friendly with Brazil.
England squad: Butland (Birmingham) Hart (Manchester City); Baines (Everton), Cahill (Chelsea), Cole (Chelsea), Jagielka (Everton), G Johnson (Liverpool), Lescott (Manchester City), Smalling (Manchester United), Walker (Tottenham); Carrick (Manchester United), Cleverley (Manchester United), Gerrard (Liverpool), Lampard (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Milner (Manchester City), Osman (Everton), Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Walcott (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal); Defoe (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United), Sturridge (Liverpool), Welbeck (Manchester United).

So if Ricky Lambert isn't good enough for the Premier League, or the Championship or League One despite being the top scorer in both those in the previous years, then you must have some serious issues. Or your a Skate. Same thing.

MLT played all his years in the Prem - he'd be in any foreign countries national squad but playing for Saints - mmm wonder how good he is.
Well if Woy is going to carry on with the 'safe' options of playing guys who play for the teams at the top only then so be it.
In my book if you are good enough you are old enough and if you are in form - age is unimportant. Play your strongest side Woy. Might regret it one day in a penalty shoot out!!

Holt should have got a call last year, There are other midfielders than "steeeveee Gee" and "Lamps" but you will never see Britton get a call
Terry can shag his teamates misses and Cole can shoot trainee's but you can bet that if Clyne or Shaw make the mistake of staying at Saints and out of the papers they can expect to become one of the "could have beens"
