Saints’ teenage full-back Luke Shaw has been called-up to the England Under-21 squad for the first time, ahead of next week’s friendly against Sweden.

The 17-year-old has been fast-tracked into Stuart Pearce’s team after a string of impressive displays in the Premier League this season.

Shaw is joined in the squad by his teammate and regular under-21 selection Nathaniel Clyne.

England will face Sweden next Tuesday, at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium.
