The new manager has got us playing better for longer of that there is no doubt....faster, neater, better all round..

I know that Adkins was surprised to be sacked.

I know that his replacement had been briefed that he had the job some considerable time before, which is why he was spending time watching the team in action.

I know that Adkins is, at present, out of work.

If you think that Cortese told Adkins that his job was on the line, and that he should be sending out invitations for his farewell party, I am afraid that I just don't buy into it.

florida no one knows for sure that NA found out via a thrid party, but it would be wrong if he did.
it was matt who phoned the saints to ask for a meeting and saints said yes if it was kept private. now we all know that matt would never keep that info quiet so saints/nc knew there would be no meeting and were in a win win position,
matt keeps quiet and the meeting goes ahead - win for saints as good pr
matt goes public and the meeting gets called off - win for saints they agreed to meet and mlt opens mouth so he looks bad, bad pr for matt and saints look like the offended party.

matt was a very big player for us and yes was highly involved in helping maintain our L1/prem status and he will always be a hero to saints fans, but that does not mean that he is always right. the reason that fans are sniping at matt is because our club is being dragged through the mud in and by the media because of stories like this. nc does make decisions which get huge press attention, we just dont need the extra attention that this story brings.

great day out that was, 44,000 all singing saints fans, went to a bar by the stadium owned by a saints fan and had a southampton mod band playing saints songs...!
Bought the young boy a foot-long hot -dog and a coke cost me six quid, but hey it was a great occasion. Mind you I bet you got some great memories of watching man u lift trophies too right...;)

I said, 'You are who I think you are, aren't you?' Clearly annoyed by the question and not wanting to comment further, he simply replied, 'yes!' There after, the entire transaction was conducted in very short sentences from me and one word answers (yes or no) from him. Pity, I'd have loved to have praised his bravery for those early somewhat heart-stopping saves he made at Wembley that day. I didn't ask for his autograph.

i have met mlt many times though not for a few years, i met many of the players around the time that matt played for saints including dodd, claus, tessem and gary monk and i never `fawned` over any of them, i treated them with respect. i would not say that i `knew` any of them, however i once said to matt that he should keep hs mouth shut on the pitch as it cost him and the team, he accepted what i said but said that he cant help it when hes playing. thing is he can stop and think about it now, he can take a step back before going to the press or twttier. if a spoke to matt again i would say that to him and hope that he would accept it again.

the worst player i ever spoke to was Ian Turner, this was only 8 or so years ago, i went up to him and said how i was a saints fans and was pleased to meet an fa cup hero, he repplied "well i`m a Middlesbrough fan so i dont care" nice!

mgra you often have a go at the `real fans` who believe the bs that comes from sms, and you also say `anyone who knows matt` and then go on to tell us how everything said against him is spin from the club. well as i said earlier i dont `know` matt butt i have met and spoken to him many times, i have also `met` other players from the 90`s and even had a very nice phone conversation with gary monk.
what i can tell you (as there is lots that i wont) is that the players are not adverse to a bit of `spin and gossip` and often `smear` other players. they also cover for each other and lie. you can read matts book for any of that by the way! what i am saying is you are accusing NC of a `smear` campaign against MLT yet MLT is the one doing the talking. i have a lot of time and respect for matt but i also know enough of what he is capable off to know that there are two sides to this.

Yo dude we never got relegated when Le Tiss was playing for us...what my point was.... that if Le Tiss had left us when he could have...we almost certainly would have been relegated scuppering any plans for a new stadium as the finances would not have been there as Mr Lowe in his so called wisdom relied on us being in the Prem for SMS to work...as we have seen this was very short sighted as when we did get relegated the club's finances went down the pan hence giving NC the opportunity of being Chairman. I hope this explains where I was coming from and how Le Tiss in actual fact gave NC the job he has today lol !!!

Wake up yourself dude...Le Tissier is a Saints LEGEND...end of and showed an incredible amount of loyalty...where is your loyalty to Le God...if it wasn't for him we wouldn't even be in the position we are now in as we would have been relegated and followed in the path of teams like Sheff Weds etc....NC wouldn't have been interested then as we would still have been at The Dell...no new stadium etc...so at least show Matt some respect rather than having a go at him on unfounded rumours...Le Tiss' Saints facts speak for themselves over the last 25 years.

Yo dude we never got relegated when Le Tiss was playing for us...what my point was.... that if Le Tiss had left us when he could have...we almost certainly would have been relegated scuppering any plans for a new stadium as the finances would not have been there as Mr Lowe in his so called wisdom relied on us being in the Prem for SMS to work...as we have seen this was very short sighted as when we did get relegated the club's finances went down the pan hence giving NC the opportunity of being Chairman. I hope this explains where I was coming from and how Le Tiss in actual fact gave NC the job he has today lol !!!

As usual, you result to insults when you lose the plot. Try reading up on the history of the Liebherrs and Cortese, they worked as a team to get our Club out of the mire, what is it that you cannot grasp about that? What exactly was the purpose of their actions? Why would they use so much money to rescue a Club in terminal decline? It makes no sense at all, we should be dead in the water like our neighbours, but we are not because two people cared, we should be thankful and proud that they saved us, not looking for every opportunity to have a cheap shot at them. As a supposed Saints supporter you are an utter disgrace and not showing to be worthy of being involved with a Club which actually appear to detest. If you cannot back the Club and it's management, I suggest that you just walk away, because nothing you say or do is going change one single thing.

What is all this fanatical support for Cortese. He is a banker who was paid to do a financial job using someone else's money. His Italian connections have not proved over fruitful even if his financial management might have appeared ok. He has ok'd some dodgy deals.and even Ramirez has a long way to go to prove his worth.

There should not be any issue with fans or especially someone of Matt's standing in the history of the Club asking justifiable questions and no reason why that conversation shouldn't be available for all to read.

Cortese has not got the Club back in the Premiership.He has upped the ticket prices and the add-ons, shifted Saints fans around, kicked out the local press, kicked out the players who have brought even greater success to the Club in the past.He was given the cash to buy our way back to where we were.Some good buys and some not.We'll see whether his latest decisions prove successful or not.Anyway, he is NOT a Club man, just a money man.
