FORMER Saints star Kevin Keegan has been given a stamp of approval.

The ex-Saint, who scored 76 goals for the club from 1980 to 1982, will now be featured in a new set of stamps called Football Heroes which the Royal Mail are selling to mark the 150th anniversary of Association Football.

He is just one of 11 players to be chosen in the collection, which celebrates the most talented players in the UK to have graced football.

The football heroes (XI) 11 include Bobby Charlton, Gordon Banks and George Best.

The stamps, pictured, will be available from May 9 and fans can preorder the stamps by registering at royalmail.com/footballheroes.

Will always have a special memory of Keegan running out at The Dell for the first time in a Saints shirt - but he was a Liverpool star long before he came to Southampton!
What a great bit of business - only for it all to go wrong when he cleared off to Newcastle as said above...after season tickets had been sold! Now that was an underhand bit of dupeing the fans...what wass his name? No too soon for the Lowe era...!

Gives a different meaning to "hit the post again".

Other than Saints fans most other football fans have forgotten he ever played for us. But he often acknowledges that his best ever goal was the one he scored for Saints against Man Utd with an overhead kick .. even though it was disallowed for off side ... (small details - no matter).

... and does he really want to be reminded of that hairdo?
