Southampton’s world champion cliff diver Gary Hunt is delighted that the Red Bull-sponsored series is returning to Wales in 2013.

Hunt, who has won the last three world championship titles, will be diving again at the Blue Lagoon in Pembrokeshire on September 14 after the venue was confirmed on this year’s schedule for the second year running.

“I can't wait for Red Bull Cliff Diving to come back to Wales again,” said Hunt. “It was one of my favourite stops last year as lots of my family and friends came out to watch.

“Everyone was in great spirits and the location is incredible.

“It will be the penultimate competition so things should be hotting up in the series, fingers crossed for a Brit on top.”

Hunt’s former Southampton Diving Academy colleague Blake Aldridge is thrilled that the Blue Lagoon will allow friends and family to support him first hand.

“It was an amazing event last year, being on home turf - having friends and family there makes things so much more relaxed which allows for a better frame of mind during the competition,” he said.

“The location was beautiful, I didn't know such stunning places even existed in the UK, and we got to dive there. Bring on 2013!”
