Salute to Saints goal centurion Lambert

Rickie Lambert Rickie Lambert

It’s been an incredible three-and-a-half years in the life of Rickie Lambert.

When the striker joined Saints in August 2009, signed by Alan Pardew for £1m, few would have dreamed he would have the kind of impact he has. Perhaps not even the man himself.

Against Newcastle last weekend the 31-year-old, who had never played above the third tier of English football before joining Saints, notched up his 100th goal for the club.

Here at the Daily Echo we salute the achievements of Lambert and select ten of his most memorable goals from his century in a two-page special in today's edition.

A wonderful player who has achieved his potential since arriving at Saints. A marriage made in heaven. His future status as a legend is assured because it involved two promotions. More today, please.

I've not got Rickie in my Dream Team...so I take some credit for his goals this season.

On another point, I see the News is reporting that skunts can get STI tested before their game with Bury...

...could lead to a serious drain on NHS resources if you ask me! :O)

Ah Rickie - our high flying goal mouth harrier. Prey on the QPR defence today and bag a brace.

We need 'arry to be 'arried by our 'arrier and saying 'arrumph on TV later.

Must admit my match day nerves are worse than usual today. It's strange, if you're tense and then you think about 'arry and his nervous twitch - and then you think that what you really musn't start doing is start to twitch like 'arry - then it kind of makes you feel like you are going to twitch.

My firm advice to all of you is DO NOT think about 'arry's twitch or that you might feel any compulsion to twitch yourself.

If the NHS were sensible it would introduce a Skunt Sterilisation Scheme.

Come on Rickie a home goal would be good.

Lets play them off the park. Send saggy chops back to Sandbacks to count his dodgy cash. COYR 3-1

ha ha. It's Cannon & Ball. Lads get a hobby! You spend more time talking about the filth down the road than your own team.

I would imagine any medal would go to Rickie rather than the club. :)

Harry Redknapp, he has got a twitch

Serious case of Pre-Match Tension today. This game is absolutely massive and I can't wait to get in the ground, the atmosphere will be awesome fancy 3-1 to the Saints. COYR
