Pochettino's birthday blues

Mauricio Pochettino Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino was left ruing two mistakes that cost his team a hurtful home defeat against bottom of the table QPR.

The Saints boss won’t have found much reason for cheer on his birthday as his side slipped to a 2-1 loss with goals from Loic Remy and Jay Bothroyd cancelling out the effort from Gaston Ramirez.

It meant a winning return to St Mary’s for Harry Redknapp and after the game Pochettino was clearly frustrated.

“We basically made two mistakes that led to conceding two goals,” he said.

“We put in an effort big enough to manage a better result but they had three chances and scored twice and we weren’t able to score more than them.

“Perhaps we didn’t create enough chances but we did have more chances than they did.”

So guys, help me, cause I wasn't at the game, so which is it?
1.Pochettinos style takes time adapt to, and as with his other clubs you lose a few before you start winning?

or, is it?

2. Pochettinos style fits the spanish league which is slower and more technical, and therefore perfect for a "high up the pitch" pressure system?

Or is it something else??

I looked at the stats and saw we have almost 70% possession, so what's going on???

thanks

Hardly a revolution is it??

Don't get me wrong, I want Poch to succeed as much as the next man, but to raise the game to beat Man City 3-1 and then to lose 2-1 to QPR, something is not right somewhere. Are the tactics too easy to deal with once sussed out by the opposition?

It ws alright for a couple of games but the opposition have us sussed now and we dont have the personel for the type of game Poch wants to play our defenders are just too slow and not good enough anyway. I an really angry a6t Cortese stupidity getting rid of Atkins mid season it could cost u s dearly and if today was nything to go by will. Where is the new boy hes been here a mont and theres no sign of him. Im sorry but questions need to be asked not least of Cortese himself. if we lose the next game we will be right back in trouble.

Dismal performance from the team, inept performance from the manager. I was looking for an improvement second half but it didn’t happen. Lets face it how can the manager motivate the team in the dressing room at half time, give them inspiration to go out and get a grip on the game if he cant speak English. Nigel Adkins was guiding the team to a mid table finish, now we look like we will struggle to finish out of the bottom three. NC, you could live to regret your decision to dump NA.

Couldn't agree more. NA was getting the most from the squad and I fear we've taken a big step backwards and a time in the season when stability would have been much more valuable than revolutionary change. I genuinely hope that MP is more than a one trick pony but am beginning to feel that he is somewhat lacking tactically. It took NA a while to work out the Premier League and think that MP is now doing the same at a time when we can't afford to drop points. I'm very worried that Cortese's gamble will backfire and see us back in the Championship next season.

Probably due to P6 W1 D2 L3 , 5 points from a possible 18 and the poor display today. We didn't really dominate as much as we should have at home to the bottom side.

I went to the match today.
It seemed the team fealt like they only had to turn up for the win.
Don't work like that in this league.
There is not a player in that team today that can go away thinking he did well.
Rodrigues is the only one that had any possitivity.
I don't understand how we have lost so much direction in such a short time.
Can someone explain to me. why, if the goalie gets injured, then he can stay on the field after he is injured but outfield players have to go off.
What a crazy rule.
Saints had possesion but their passing was woefull and laboured.
The whole team looked knackered, are they now leaving their energy in the intensive training cos it looked like that to me.
Always second to the loose ball the tackle and in the air.
Where was our on-field leaders?
Rickie generally bawls out the slackers, didn't see that today from him or anyone else.
The crowd today was also muted but it's hard to lift the team when they are so woefull.
All that said Ifealt that Howard Webbs' decision making today was a contributary factor in a very stop start game.

Went to the game and felt confident until QPR scored, then the whole atmosphere deflated, both in the team and the crowd.

I was disappointed as much by the lack of support and passion from the crowd as much as by the result. OK slag off Redknapp but when the team really needs it we must get behind them. It's all very well when we're winning but it's in games like today's that the crowd could make a difference.

Anyway trying to be positive, we were due a bad game so that's it out of the way. Two poor goals/ silly errors, move on and look at the Norwich game where we can easily get at least a point if we play well.

Worried because our manager did not appear to have a Plan B. We have to break down teams who put 11 men behind a ball without leaving the back door open. Thought QPR were pretty dirty and the ref let them get away with it.

He didn't finish it though, quad injury it is said, Lala had neck damage and felt groggy, there initially were fears that he had a repeat of the previous injury, Spider took a hell of a whack and Mayuka was struggling just before the second goal error, we were bullied out of this game and I don't think Harold Webb gave our players enough protection. Also in my opinion the second goal scorer should have been red carded in first half, watch MoD if you can bear to do it, and see if I was right.

I do actually Mark.

It was indeed a lack lustre performance today, no passion, not even from Rickie. However, despite this and utilising the managers tactics we still had 70% possession, more shots on goal, etc etc.
Our problem is finishing imo, not the manager.
Thanks for the compliment by the way, not so long ago I was classed as a doom n gloomer as I wasn't a fan of Nigel's tactics so things really have gone full swing!
This is the first under performance with MP, in no way indicative of things to come and blame cannot be placed at his door.
As for the Chairman, he may have made a mistake or he may have saved the day, it could be the worst thing or the best thing for SFC. Either way he does what he does for the sake of the club which he believes in and is probably more ambitious than many fans so that's good enough for me.

Here come the excuses. The dog ate my homework sir! Arry had your number. From a tactical standpoint Pedro didn't have a chance.

I haven't seen the game yet but people who did, seem to think we were bullied out of it, and that the ref didn't help. Same as away at Newcastle, then. This means we really need to start putting it about a bit, stop being so easily brushed aside?

Haha, it's like a copy and paste from the Adkins days. Some sad people just enjoy to be bitter

You Sir are a "happy clapper".

When Mr Adkins was in charge we had had a bad spell and were going in the right direction.

Do you honestly feel this to be the case now?

We were no better off with Nigel, you may say things might have improved, I could say he already cost us too much, it's all conjecture. We have what we have. Get behind the team.

STID
It was disappointing that when their GK was obviously struggling through an apparent injury, apart from JRod nobody had the nouse to test him out, his dead ball goal kicking never reached the half way line, someone should have cottoned on to that as well. We have a lot of talent in the side, but it seems not a lot of common savy! Both goals were as a result of basic defensive mistakes, at this level that is not tolerable and must be stamped on in the training field. Norwich in freefall it would be criminal not to take advantage of their misfortune.

There is not a player in that team today that can go away thinking he did well.

No heart that's your club's problem. The players were not up for it and the fans were silent as usual. Got to get behind the team. Was it a silent protest against the sacking of Adkins? If so 90 minutes is taking it a bit far don't you think!
No money, players, training facilities etc etc etc........ That's your clubs down fall. Six fingers, inbreeding that's your fans down fall!

We're looking for a new derby team.
Well you'll have to find it in the Championship coz that's where you're heading. Arry's seen to that.
He's also seen to you playing Eastleigh! Laugh I nearly shat
Well your team did today. Time to wave those white hankies coz you've already given up. No fight in the club. Back in the football league where you belong.

Cheer up, it's just the rih pattern of being a Saints supporter, that's one thing that will nevr change, if you can't stand the heat, try something cooler.

Well said. These things happen. A win at Norwich and the mood swings back.

We're still 3 points clear and with a better goal difference. The match will be quite different next week.

Hope I'm never on a lifeboat with some of those on here tonight though. They'd give up with land in sight.
Confucious....more like confused. You're going down that's why all the fair weather lads are jumping ship. What don't you get? The majority of your lot are not loyal. It's a well-known fact amongst real football fans.
Real football fans? Where do you come from then? Blackburn!

Fratton Park - the only ground you can sit in and eavesdrop on a conversation down the other end!

At half-time you can hear rousing applause - Oh Nosorry that's the seats folding up as everyone leaves!

This week the Pompey massive are coming to watch in fancy dress - all disguised as empty blue seats!

If you phone up to ask 'What time is kick-off'?, they reply 'What time can you get here'.

If the opposing team bus doesn't pay the £20 fee they get a parking ticket!

Outside the sign reads Welcome to Fratton Park - If you want to see a victory, the docks is that way!

When the PST takes over their first job is going to be buying more supporters to add some strength and depth!

What does Pompey and the Premiership have in common?
Niether will ever meet!

Wide boy was right earlier, if we are going to argue amongst ourselves it could lead to splits, let's agree to disagree with certain points of view, but we must stay together as one if we are to succeed in the dream, I know I shout my mouth off a lot, but take it with a pinch of salt, I am prone to teasing those that I think are being disingenuous, I am not saying they are actually wrong. The Adkins saga taught a lot of us a lesson, we should heed it.

You have cheered me up no end, giving me a chance to have a bit of banter and to realise that there are others a lot worse than ourselves, I see Chelsea, a team having success yet still a Club being torn apart over their Manager, I see our Club with a bit of a bad day and a few moaners on here putting their points of view, fair enough, I see another Club that won today for the first time in 24 games and I feel happy for them in these desperate times, but am under no illusion that things will get worse before they get better, keep your chin up and keep believing and maybe it will turn out for the best, I still have my doubts.

It was a couple of long range shots that caused the most problems for QPR, but you are right, loads of opportunities being squandered by players not looking for an opportunity to shoot from any distance, their GK was clearly struggling but wasn't tested, that is one of my concerns from today.

26 shots to their 8, 9 on target to their 3 shows it a bit more one sided than it felt at the time. But we lacked a bit of nouse on how to play against a team getting 10, sometimes 11, behind the ball. Loosing Lallana and then Ramirez was unfortunate as they have that little bit of class to unlock such a defensive set up.

But it’s nonsense to say that there was a problem with the tactics or selection – using this result to re-ignite the anti Cortese stuff and slag of the manager is pathetic.

We are short at left back when Shaw is injured and Fox’s poor positioning is compounded with Yashida playing out of position as the left of the centre backs – left exposed by a simple run for their first goal. He also went with his wrong (i.e. right) foot in the missed tackle that led to the second goal. Would hope that Forren is getting close.
And agree that we are better with Clyne switching to left back when Shaw is out.

We have become one dimensional and managers have sussed us out.
We are trying to play like Barcelona, but we don't have the skill or enough players who are comfortable on the ball.
The system has worked, to a certain degree, against the better sides but it has been proven that it does not work against every team.

After MP's first game I said that this system could leave us exposed at the back, seem I was correct.
He now has one week to sort out a game plan for us to achieve anything against Norwich.

I was at the game again yesterday and i will tell you what i honestly think was the main problem, the fans. The team had an off day which is too be expected at some point because we cant perform every game and since MP has been appointed our performances have been not far from exceptional. Yes, the game was a must win but football just doesnt work like that does it. Now yes, the fans did turn up yesterday in their numbers, which was great, and could have been the game changer but it turnt out that most of the fans just turnt up because they expected an easy 3 points and really they should've just stayed at home. We had the numbers but the atmosphere was absolutely shocking!! No one got behind the team and if there was any noise it was only aimed towards redknapp. It was a big game where the atmosphere needed to be identical to the man city game and it was just depressing. Okay, the players had an off day but i would put it down to the poor lack of support and its not the 1st time at home this has happened. Im fed up with hearing that its down to the fans being "nervous". Its time to start gettin behind the lads, especially at home, from start to finish. Dont get me wrong, we have great fans and a great following but games like yesterday, we needed to turn up and we just didnt. COME ON LADS!! lets have it the rest of the season and see our boys through!

Hurrah, a sensible response, I was disappointed with the result yesterday, but not as upset about that as much as being hacked off by the posters on here slagging all and sundry off, the same ones that were absent on here after the Man City result. What was the difference yesterday, Pompey won, why? Perhaps their players showed more guts than the highly paid prima donnas that failed to cope with a hard tackling, hard working, bullying team that appeared to want the result more.
Nothing that can't be fixed with the right reaction and full and proper support from the fans.

I think I woke up yesterday and inadvertently stepped into a portal to a parallel universe of opposites. I didn't realise at the time as everything seemed normal. Then I went to the game and we lost to the worst team to come to St Marys this year. Then I found out that the biggest embarrassment of an excuse for a football club ever to exist had actually managed to find the W on their typwriters. And they had to rely on a Saints player for that . But it's ok now. I searched around and found the entrance back again. So all will now be back to normal, with saggy chops taking Queens Park Cheaters down, the Skunts reverting to another 24 game run with lots of LLLLLs and DDDDDDs and the Saints marching ever upwards.

the trouble is we cant afford to think like that what is done is done and whztever hasppens now we have to stay behind the team. Any repercussions about Adkins sacking can be dealt with at the end of the season. I just hope that we are still in the Premiership by then but if we continue to play the way we did without protecting the back four we are going to get stuffed week after week..I understand the problem only too well because here on the continent they are just not used to the long ball over the top english style and harry whatever you think of him is way too experienced to be caught out by a novice he saw our faults and went out to expose them. So stupid.

For a pocket full of marbles such are promises
All flies and pests
Down the mudflats digging rag-worms for my bait
For tea I hope that I will catch a skate
Fratton Park... lie lie lie lie lie

Well I called our milkman family
When I was no more than a boy
From a caravan full of strangers
To the bustle of the railway station stealing bags
Laying low, picking pockets of the tourists passing
And hiding where us ragged people know
Looking for the handouts only we would know
Fratton Park Lie la lie lie lie lie lie lie lie

I support my Pompey Football Club
Though I’ve never seen a game
It's owned by crooked whores with No fixed abode like me
I do declare, I have never paid a penny tax

You Sir are a "happy clapper".

When Mr Adkins was in charge we had had a bad spell and were going in the right direction.

Do you honestly feel this to be the case now?

We were no better off with Nigel, you may say things might have improved, I could say he already cost us too much, it's all conjecture. We have what we have. Get behind the team.

Have you ever been to Old Trafford? Its 'quiet' there as well and they don't seem to have a problem. These 'we don't have enought real fans' type of comments are wasted on here anyway. One opinionated individual who takes people to task for grammatical mistakes admits he never goes to games. And don't take the pro Adkins people to task either; if you were at the game yesterday you would have witnessed a carbon copy of the Sunderland game. A new manager has a galvanising effect at first; on the evidence of yesterday that effect has worn off and not much has changed: it could easily have been Adkins' team out there yesterday.

The risk of changing managers in January is becoming obvious.

The pressing game is fine if you have a strong defence to resist the occasional counter-attacks of the opposition. We don't and, as others have said, our opponents have worked that out and how to exploit it.

Where is Forren? Surely now he must be brought in to partner Fonte.

MiltonRoad says...

It is quite simple really. We were an OK side, finding our feet in the PL, and looking set for a lower mid-table finish. Then we sack the man that brought us back-to-back promotions and that likely PL survival and replace him with a guy that has never worked in the PL, or in England, and doesn't even speak the language. He may well be a very talented coach but the timing was all wrong and the way it was done was all wrong. No we are looking likely for relegation. All the faults that NA had fixed - particularly the frailty of the back four - are back. The new coach is tactically naive in the extreme (listen to what Dave Merrington had to say yesterday) and doesn't seem to have a system or team he is comfortable with. Many City was the exception, not a sign of things to come, and was achieved against a side every bit as inept as we were yesterday. Our performances, form and results are all deteriorating. Shame on the Chairman as we could have been safe by now.
We can still turn this around but it down to the players. The coach and his staff clearly do not have the experience or wit to make a meaningful contribution.
p.s. when it comes to Shaw we need to take off the rose tinted glasses. I think he is a magnificent player and will go on to play for England. But he is still learning the game at this level and is every bit as prone to errors - costing goals - as Fox!

I have supported Saints man and boy since my family moved to Southampton way back in 1953. I have thoroughly enjoyed the highs and endured the lows (and Lowes!!). I am, however, finding very difficult to remember a more frustrating time to be a supporter. On paper we have a young talented team capable of playing exciting football (even Alex Ferguson was full of praise) yet we are hovering over the relegation zone unable to string together a consistent winning formula and dropping more points from a winning position than any other team in the Premiership. Something is missing - unfortunately I do not know what it is. Last season Saturdays were days to look forward as Saints marched onwards. I am fearful the remaining Satudays this season are going to do untold damage to my nerves. Lose next week against Norwich and we could be out of the drop zone only on goal difference. With Liverpool and Chelsea to come by the end of March we might be in the bottom three having to rely on other teams' results to avoid the drop. Now is the time for MP to earn his - undoubtedly high - salary and at the same time show some consideration to my nerves and many other supporters' nerves I am sure.

Now, after an inauspicious start, the new manager is coming in for criticism.

I am just waiting for the real problem to come in for criticism.

We had the numbers but the atmosphere was absolutely shocking!! I don't really see any point in continually moaning about the fans when as you say it's demographic. Unless those in the Chapel, Kinglsand (Middle to South), Itchen (Middle to South) start asking the others (Including Northam) to up their game, but that would be ridiculous.

Applause is common around the ground (We are good at that) but if you want a stadium full of people who are not shy and want to stamp and shout and sing you are dreaming. You will cut our support by about 3/4. If people want to pay, turn up and ar concerned that they would rather not make a donkey's **** out of themselves does this make them any less of a supporter? I don't think so.

It is the way it is.

You do see a more active crowd in all areas of the ground when you see stirring football and commitment from the team. Not what we were served up yesterday,
Quality. You're all admitting to being quiet. You make Man U fans look raucous! Fair weather fans if ever I saw.

Fans critising the defense well they limited QPR to 3 shots on target compared to Saints 19 shots in total.Seems to me the failure to convert or get on target is the problem.Even the best defenders make mistakes and teams will have chances and they took theres.A proven goal scorer should have been added god help us if lambert gets injured! This the first time this season i worry we may go down, apart from my intial reaction when Adkins was sacked.Replacing a successfull manager with 2 defeats in 13 games. QPR strengthened considerably in January but it's too late for them. We are much better than Villa, Wigan and Reading. Yesterday could have seen us move clear and once again we didn't take the chance but we are not going down.

We didn't deserve to lose despite our lack lustre performance but that's football. Greens save from Yoshida was truely world class and prevented the draw.

I am just a poor boy

For a pocket full of marbles such are promises
All flies and pests
Down the mudflats digging rag-worms for my bait
For tea I hope that I will catch a skate
Fratton Park... lie lie lie lie lie

Well I called our milkman family
When I was no more than a boy
From a caravan full of strangers
To the bustle of the railway station stealing bags
Laying low, picking pockets of the tourists passing
And hiding where us ragged people know
Looking for the handouts only we would know
Fratton Park Lie la lie lie lie lie lie lie lie

I support my Pompey Football Club
Though I’ve never seen a game
It's owned by crooked whores with No fixed abode like me
I do declare, I have never paid a penny tax
and robbed every thread I wear
Fratton Park Lie lie lie lie lie

In the court there stands an accountant
A liar by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry debt he welched on
And Parachute paid holiday
In his greed he has no shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the club it still remains
Fratton Park... Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie

He does go away with the win. But what I don't understand is your support for a man who left you with such an unsustainable wage bill that the door opened for the dodgy owners and crooks that has resulted in your current mess. Of all the characters involved Harry gets more credit for your demise than any other single individual. And for that alone I say fair play to him.
The only thing funnier than yesterday was the original Ted Bates statue. You know the one that looked like a cartoon version of Milan.I bet Harry has it as his laptop wallpaper.
The funny thing about the original statue is that it's been standing in your goal for the last 4 months and you didn't even notice!

What are you on about? The three changes between City and QPR were our best player, Lallana and our all time club record signing Ramirez both back from injury and in for Davies and Jay Rod. Also the previously injured Fonte was available and replaced Hooivelt. I think most people would pick Fonte ahead of the Hoover.

The real problem yesterday was that we lost both the players that can turn a game - Adam and Gaston. Without either of them it was hard to see where the breakthough was going to come from. Also Yoshida must still be wondering how his header was clawed away.

Every now and then these games happen in football. Remember our win away to Leeds?

If everyone is fit this is probably the team:

Boruc
Clyne
Yoshida
Fonte
Shaw
Cork
Schneiderlin
Lallana
Puncheon
Ramirez
Lambert

Bench:
Davies
Fox
Hooiveld
Prowse
Davies
Rodriguez
Do Prado

I haven't alowed for Forren because I have no idea what the hell is happening there and wish someone would inform us. Some may swap Ramirez for Rodriguez.

I think you may find it is considerably more that half of fans needed to stay away. Why won't "stupid boy" tell me what year it was when poopey last won a game and we lost one
They don't do stats, Folky
They are only indoctrinated with certain things.
1) We love Harry even though he killed our club.
2) We won(?) the FACup one more time than you lot.
3) We won the league when the nations best footballers were posted here so we had an advantage.
4) We were a big club once in the days of black and white! (Since colour came out we've been sh1t but who cares)
5) We are the bestest bestest ever fans
6) It's not our fault

Any questions outside these parameters will not get an answer 'cos they simply do not know.
Oh! Nearly forgot

7) Practice safe sex which means have it with your mum, sister or uncle!

Loved the story title on the Snews yesterday - 'Pompey won a match!'

I see you took a huge following to Crewe yesterday, you nearly had to take TWO coaches!

We have a love/hate relationship with Harry.
We hate him for taking us down but we love him for 'putting you down'

You had best get yourself down to Southsea now as I understand the open top bus will be out later 'cos you won a game. Get there early to avoid the crowd, Whittinghams garden will be packed!

It's been nice to have my run of the place for the last 24 hours. Things we've learnt about you lot.
1. Harry loves relegating you.
2. Most of you are fair weather fans who are starting to jump ship and turn on each other.
3. Most of you have owned up to being the quietest supporters in football.
4. You've all come back down to earth with an almighty bump.

If we do meet are maker you lot won't be far behind. As Blackadder said to Baldrick, in my case God in yours, God knows. We won't go bust so your question is a moot point.
FTBU - you seem confident you wont go bust. On balance I think you have a 60-40 chance of survival. However, I think you have gone out of your way to alienate Channers who may let his anger cloud his business judgement and go down the road of revenge. He needs to be able to delay the court case by whatever means necessary to make the PST bid run out of time. If pompey are thrown out of the league the council will withdraw the loan offer - it is one of their published terms and conditions. You will then go bust.

You waivered on the steps of the court on Dec 14th and that will have given him hope. You have asked for 3 adjournments since. If he seeks one or two you wont really be in a position to prevaricate about it. Also, the point no one has picked up on is that Birch had to submit to the court last Thursday how PST will fund the purchase if it goes ahead. That wasn't on the agenda before Dec 14th and shows the court is now wary of the PST's financial position.

This has a way to go yet but I remain quietly confident.

Ouch! Going down going down going down. Quality or what. Scum and Arry don't mix. You always get relegated.
Here's a tester for you, when was the last time you won a game and we lost a game on the same day, to help it must have been at least 5 months ago, yes last year, that would be 2012. He took you down once and sent you down this time. Your current owners are starting to twig that you're a Mickey Mouse outfit with quiet fans. By next year you'll be sold and the descent will be in full swing. Harry must be loving it.

Going down Folkestone fairy and most of you are already starting to jump ship. And Harry is responsible for starting your descent. Quality or what! Dummy it's time you got with the program and jumped in a life raft.

The Leeds game was a good analagy, Seed.
We were all over them yesterday like a rash and they struggled to cope, even though we were under par.
Jrod needs to improve his finishing and this generally was our problem yesterday. I was disappointed that the first time they got out of their half they scored. But on another day we may have crushed them. That's football.

I am willing to fund a legal challenge by a tax payer of their intended loan. They need an injunction slapped on them to prevent them going ahead with it. It will probably ultimately fail but it will cause a mortal delay.

Yep. It's only about survival and I think we are better than 4 other teams at least. We can then strengthen and push on next season.

Be interesting to see who survives and starts next season. My guess would be:

Shaw
Clyne
Lallana
Cork
Schneiderlin
Puncheon
Lambert
Ramirez (maybe)

Waivered on the steps of the court more like lurched from left to right before clinging onto the stair rail. Viva Colin and the PST. You should be more concerned with your impending relegation and the fact that the natives are restless. I smell a mutiny against Pedro and Niki C brewing.
Does anyone either live in the Portsmouth Council area or run a business in that area?

I am willing to fund a legal challenge by a tax payer of their intended loan. They need an injunction slapped on them to prevent them going ahead with it. It will probably ultimately fail but it will cause a mortal delay.
Light bulb moment that Seed...I like your thinking.

For the record, imo
MPs impact has made us a force to be reckoned with, using the same squad unlike QPR, we are all expecting no more than a 17th place this season so above target at present thanks.
The 50-100 people who post on here isn't indicative of all the fans. I appreciate that this number probably seems like a lot to you as it's nearly as much as your away contingent.
I'm surprised you mention turning on each other as, let's face it, it has been carnage on your site for many months now, all having a go at each other about the Trust and if you will pay or not!
It was very loud where I was sitting yesterday as usual and we sang right through the game.
Your comment above about being more concerned about our own problems(?) is advice you should take yourself.

We don't have any problems. Even if we were relegated we will pick up £60m. Enough to buy 20 Fratton Parks!
If that happened, it would only be a matter of time b4 we get back. In your case however you will NEVER play PL football again and your children will be supporting us! That will make us even noisier than we are now!

Enjoy

He does go away with the win. Every now and then these games happen in football. Remember our win away to Leeds?
Agreed...to an extent. Leeds peppered our goul mouth and we defended resolutely.

Our possession should result in more attempts on goal. We have just one piece of the jigsaw missing in my opinion...I just can't figure out which one it is.
Another quality striker...BbB and I have always said our defence will not save us..

...indeed last year we could have missed promotion cos of them.....

...however scoring a reasonable number of the gazzillion chances we create and the possession we enjoy would have kept us up already, my boy.
Our first choice defence now includes Boruc, Shaw, Yoshida and Clyne so only Fonte remains from last seasons defence.
I mean collectively Seed ...it is our weak link and still a'int up to speed...6 goals in the last 2 games against bottom and 5th from bottom

...if that does not tell a story what does...

To late to fix now...however not scoring with the chances we make concerns me
more....has done all season..
Yep. It's only about survival and I think we are better than 4 other teams at least. We can then strengthen and push on next season.

Be interesting to see who survives and starts next season. My guess would be:

Shaw
Clyne
Lallana
Cork
Schneiderlin
Puncheon
Lambert
Ramirez (maybe)
like the maybe on ramirez i would add jwp and a maybe on forren.

Ouch! Going down going down going down. Quality or what. Scum and Arry don't mix. You always get relegated.
Here's a tester for you, when was the last time you won a game and we lost a game on the same day, to help it must have been at least 5 months ago, yes last year, that would be 2012. Your arry and us quote is a laugh too, what agent harry did to you will be rememberd here for a long time, yes he took us down but he took you out and left you the laughing stock of England
He took you down once and sent you down this time. Your current owners are starting to twig that you're a Mickey Mouse outfit with quiet fans. By next year you'll be sold and the descent will be in full swing. Harry must be loving it.
Thats it ignore my question, and how did he send us down, I seem to remember we beat them in their own back yard so honours even, but then again what would poopey know about honour? you even ripped off the poppey appeal but being so stupid you probably thought it was a typo and it was the poopy appeal, stupid boy
Going down Folkestone fairy and most of you are already starting to jump ship. And Harry is responsible for starting your descent. Quality or what! Dummy it's time you got with the program and jumped in a life raft.

So, we lost a game. QPR are in desperate/ committed mode, and we are not there yet. We need to get a bit more desperate in our next few games. Newcastle is often a very difficult place to go, but we gave them a game for a while. So lets not ridicule our defence just yet.

If we want to play good football, fine, but remember that during the winter months the ground conditions make this a little harder.
