PEOPLE who want to pile on the pedal power at Basingstoke Sports Centre now have new bikes to use – thanks to a £20,000 investment.
The 24 new bikes are part of a makeover of the pedal studio in the Festival Place complex. Other changes include flashing lights and UV light-sensitive murals of cyclists on the walls.
The new bikes have a trip computer so people can monitor their class performance as well as heart rate and calories burned.
The studio is home to the popular spinning classes, where an instructor will lead a class through an exercise programme, changing speeds and positions on the bike regularly.
Kim Albinson, aerobics manager at Basingstoke Sports Centre, said: “The new room is fantastic and energising, and with our inspirational instructors, disco lights and upbeat music, I’m certain customers will have a superb fun workout.”
