Sorry, no room for sentiment from me. The goalkeeping dept. needs a clear out at the end of the season, what's the point of keeping KD who is clearly past his best now. Appreciate his loyalty but this to me seems a backward step.
you are not reading between the lines on this buddy..... this is clearly all part of the now essential 'plan B'
I assume that is a reference to Southampton Football Club being relegated? You are a very tiresome individual, not at all what I would expect from a Saints fan. Each to their own I suppose. I welcome this move as it show Nicola Cortese in a slightly better light.
MGRA is just a bit bitter and twisted , he'll come round when we win a couple , just watch .
you are joking surely... I am round.... signing Kelvin is superb. A sign that we are covering all the bases..... he is not good enough as a Prem keeper according to 95% on here so obviously to those people he would be out of his depth coaching goal keeping at a Prem club.... No this makes good sense, he for me is borderline 1st choice anyway.... bravo...."

Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal

Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal

Saints have extended the contract of club captain Kelvin Davis until 2016, it has been announced.

The 36-year-old keeper's previous deal had been due to run through to the summer of 2014, but, despite having lost his position as the number one stopper at St Mary's, he has been given another two years.

Davis joined Saints from Sunderland in July 2006, for a fee of £1m, and has gone on to make 283 appearances for the club.

His updated contract will extend his period of service at Saints to a decade, taking him through to his testimonial season.

Davis has made it clear for some time that he wants to see out his playing days at St Mary's, and with his new deal taking him up to within a few months of his 40th birthday, it looks like he may be granted his wish.
