Kelvin is a solid player, despite all the cr@p posted on here about him not being good enough for the prem and his "near post",,,, blah blah blah.... he was and is a good keeper... very happy he remains and be it prem or champ It would not surprise me if he is back as number 1 next season. But I am sorry, the club is not rewarding loyalty, because they simply do not do that. There is no such concept in our brave new world.... ;-) I have suspicion that in training kelvin turned out to be a pretty good centre half !
You do love the sound of your own voice, these days don't you? Clearly you think there are people out here who are interested in what you say...

Why don't you go away for a while and come back when you have something (however slightly so) positive to say about the club.
    Look who's talking!"

Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal

Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal Kelvin Davis signs new Saints deal

Saints have extended the contract of club captain Kelvin Davis until 2016, it has been announced.

The 36-year-old keeper's previous deal had been due to run through to the summer of 2014, but, despite having lost his position as the number one stopper at St Mary's, he has been given another two years.

Davis joined Saints from Sunderland in July 2006, for a fee of £1m, and has gone on to make 283 appearances for the club.

His updated contract will extend his period of service at Saints to a decade, taking him through to his testimonial season.

Davis has made it clear for some time that he wants to see out his playing days at St Mary's, and with his new deal taking him up to within a few months of his 40th birthday, it looks like he may be granted his wish.
