Puncheon backs Adkins for Reading job
3:38pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in Sport
JASON PUNCHEON
Jason Puncheon reckons Nigel Adkins would make a good replacement for sacked Reading manager Brian McDermott.
The Royals parted company with McDermott on Monday, and Adkins is among the favourites to take the reins at the Madejski Stadium.
Adkins, who has been out of work since his shock sacking at the Saints in January, would have to reach a settlement with his former club first But Puncheon said: “Reading’s out there for him, I suppose. His name is getting touted about and I think he can do a job for them.
"Nigel's proved that while he was here [at Southampton] and I think he will get another job and I do wish him all the best when he does get that."

Can you really believe that Saints would let him go to one of our premiership rivals?

There will be better jobs on offer in the next year or two, more suited to your talent and the honourable way in which you have always conducted yourself -- Sir Alex can't go on forever!

After White Star Line heard the radio distress call from the Titanic, they sacked the captain and offered the job to Albert. But of course he'd heard the drunken revelers in the radio message background chanting "Going down, going down, going down" and wouldn't touch it with a liner pole so to speak.

Sit tight Nigel until you've taken the shyster for every single penny that you are entitled to.

stay steady Nigel, take the club to the cleaners, get your just payout then you will walk into another job, this time hopefully one that has a chairman you can trust.

As I remember, new managers seem to put a jinx on us and WE LOSE!!.
If that happened at Reading we will be stuffed as our next 2 games are difficult, though the Chelsea game may be postponed.
The recent record of 1 point from 9 should worry all Saints fans - a lot.

Some supporters are fickle and have very short memories.
When AP took over, the Saints were a disheartened, disjointed, rabble with a 10 point deduction.
He built the squad, took them to within spitting distance of the play offs and winning the JPT Final.
Nigel inherited the squad that AP built, including Rickie and with very few changes or additions won promotion.
Who's to say that had AP not been dumped by Cortese he couldn't have done the same as Nigel or even better?"
And now, suddenly, you're Nigel's best friend. How odd.
Shyster: Someone of questionable honesty
That'll be you, then.

QPR have increased their wage bill and their spending - they will be joining Reading in the Championship.
Wigan are also set for the drop.

It would be better to give Reading Pochettino; thus ensuring their relegation.
