Three swim records for Freddy

Freddy Clampett set a staggering three championship records at the Hampshire County British Age Group Categories competition. The 15-year-old swimmer from City of Southampton Swimming Club impressed with his all-round performance, winning all of his ten events and achieving South East Regional qualifying times in all but one of his races.

It was a successful weekend for Southampton’s swimmers, as 14-year-old Elizabeth Hopkins achieved National Qualifying times in all three of her events. Chloe Platter also excelled, with a total of 2,440 BAGCAT points earning her second place in her age group.

Jessica Bishop came seventh in the rankings, after her total of 11 events and three South East Regional qualifying times (200m individual medley, 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle) Youngster Caitlyn Sherry finished 13th overall and achieved eight personal best times.

Harry Fryer and George Platter both finished in the top eight in their age group (14yrs) Jonathan Jones stood out in the 14-year-old’s age group, swimming in seven events and achieving South East Regional qualifying times in each race. The club recorded a total of 100 personal best times over the weekend, plus 62 South East Regional qualifying times.
