Dawson ends Hants tour with century

LIAM Dawson scored a century in the final match of Hampshire’s pre-season tour.

Batting at three, the 23 year-old made 118 from 224 balls, including 12 fours, during four hours at the crease against a Barbados XI.

He shared a 179-run third-wicket partnership with James Vince, who made 98 (158 balls, 10 fours, two sixes) out of Hampshire’s 317-5.

Chris Wood (1-40) was the pick of the bowlers as Hampshire’s hosts made 314-2 in reply, from 82 overs.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Adams was out for 13 (16 balls) in Dubai as the MCC lost their Emirates AirlineT20 semi-final against eventual winners Sussex.

He is now set to play for the MCC against county champions Warwickshire over four days in Abu Dhabi.
