A RARE collection of falcons, hawks and owls attracted large crowds to the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey at the weekend.
Master falconer Emma Raphael demonstrated her skills with the birds of prey when she showcased how early medieval kings built up falconry into a status symbol for royals and nobles.
One of the birds taking part was a Jer falcon, the largest falcon in the world.
