St Cross Symondians won the Hampshire Under-15 Cup with a crushing nine-wicket win over Hambledon in the final at The Quarters, Hursley Park.

They skittled Hambledon for 67 and polished off the target in no time, with Felix Organ cracking 41, including two sixes and four boundaries.

But St Cross Symondians didn’t have it all their own way on HCB junior finals night because their under-13s lost their final to Portsmouth & Southsea.

St Cross looked set for a large total after a positive start by Nathan Birks (30) and James Harden (26), but a brace of wickets each by Daniel Cox (2-11) and Harry Leggett (2-14) contained the Winchester side to 98-6.

Harry Wratten (30) and Harry Gadd (28) gave P & S an equally good launch pad but the scoring rate dropped as the innings progressed and the Southsea side needed to score 12 runs off the last two overs for victory.

P & S lost a wicket off the second ball of the penultimate over, but Harry Hoolahan didn’t hang about and thumped two timely boundaries to get them home off the first ball of the final over.
