Corhampton's Neil Raymond has been named in the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup squad.
The 27-year-old will be part of the ten-man team that will face the United States at the National Golf Links of America, in Southampton, New York, next month.
The GB&I side won the famous trophy two years ago in Scotland and are now sending out a strong line-up to defend their title.
Captain Nigel Edwards said: “We believe we have selected a strong team which includes some of the best amateur players in the world.
"The players have all competed at the highest levels of the amateur game and will relish the challenge of facing the Americans on their home soil.
"There will be some who are disappointed not to make the team but it is the job of the selectors to carefully consider the players available and select the strongest team they can. We are very much looking forward to what promises to be a great match next month."
Raymond, a two-time Brabazon champion, nailed down his place with a fantastic summer, in which he won the St Andrews Links Trophy, reached the quarter-finals of the British Amateur Championship and then topped the leaderboard in stroke play qualifying at the US Amateur last week, before reaching the last-eight of the tournament.
This year's Walker Cup will take place on September 7 and 8.
