Shaw fit for Liverpool
2:47pm Thursday 19th September 2013 in Sport
Luke Shaw has shaken off his ankle injury in time to face Liverpool at Anfield.
The teenage left back limped off during last weekend’s goalless draw at West Ham after sustaining the injury but has recovered well enough to be considered for selection in Merseyside.
“He’s recovered fine from the knock he received against West Ham,” reported Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino is looking forward to the game at Anfield and to Saints hitting the goalscoring trail.
“It’s clear that they are a very powerful side and Anfield is a great stadium to play in so it will be a great place to perform, to do well in and actually try to get the three points,” he said.
“It’s not the main aspect that worries me because we have offensive players who can score goals.
“I’m happy because we have created many chances in the games that we’ve played and I know that the goals will come sooner or later.
“It’s something that doesn’t worry me because I’m more concerned with how the team is playing.”
