Boruc: I will make amends
5:06pm Sunday 3rd November 2013 in Sport
ARTUR Boruc has vowed to make up for conceding one of the most bizarre goals in Premier League history.
The Pole admitted he should have done better after Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic scored the fourth fastest top-flight goal since the Premier League began 21 years ago.
Boruc produced an outstanding save to deny Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic in the second half but insists he has not yet made up for his misjudgement.
“To be honest, I didn’t have enough time to judge the ball especially after the bounce, I knew that I was in the middle of nowhere. I promise to everybody that I will get those two points back,” he said.
“The thing is, that’s goalkeeper’s lives and sometimes that situation happens in your life and you need to bounce back as soon as possible. For the next game, I’ll take time to prepare properly."
Saints are now unbeaten in seven Barclays Premier League games but for Boruc, a draw was not a fair result.
“To be honest we deserved a little bit more than the one point,” he said. “Hopefully we’re going to keep this great run of performances going in the next couple of games and throughout the season.”
