AN impasse between Hamworthy United and Christchurch could hold up moves for full-backs Tom Biles and Jordan Cole between the respective clubs.

Priory boss Michael Cuffie admitted his interest in Hammers defender Biles last week and new United boss Graham Kemp was prepared to waive notice of approach as long as Christchurch allowed him to speak to Cole.

But Kemp’s old club Christchurch are insisting on seven days’ notice of approach for Cole with Cuffie stating: “It is club policy not to waive approaches for anyone and Graham should know that because he was here for long enough. It’s nothing personal.”

Kemp commented: “It’s disappointing two lads will miss out on playing football, but we will have no more contact with Jordan before we are allowed.”

Christchurch ended a five-match losing streak on Saturday, Dan Saul scoring in a 1-1 Sydenhams Premier Division draw against Moneyfields.

Former Winchester City boss Kemp kicked off his Hamworthy era with a 2-0 win over Brockenhurst thanks to goals from Dom Allen and sub Alex Martin.
