Winchester City rose to the top of the Sydenhams Premier pile on Saturday with a 2-0 home victory over Fawley AFC.
First-half goals by Chris Flood and Chris Mason did the trick for City, who have now reeled off four straight league wins under recently appointed boss Neil Hards.
There were a couple of blots on City’s afternoon, however.
Midfielder Liam Green was stretchered off with a torn thigh muscle and new defensive signing Ross Bottomley, pictured, on as a 52nd-minute substitute, was sent off little more than half-an-hour into his debut for a second bookable offence.
With Totton & Eling pulling off a surprise 2-1 win at Newport IoW, Fawley have slipped back into the bottom two.
