DANNY Briggs took two wickets on the first day of the England Performance Programme’s three-day match against Western Australia’s 2nd XI.
The Hampshire spinner finished with 2-42 as WA made 319-8 declared, seamers James Harris (3-58) and Chris Jordan (3-83) taking the other wickets to fall.
Former Totton & Eling batsman Will Bosisto made 17 before he was dismissed by Jordan, when the home side were 139-4 at the James Oval, Perth.
Slow left-armer Briggs dismissed Tom Beaton and Hilton Cartwright before the EPP closed on 34-1 in reply, with Varun Chopra out for 17 and Sam Robson and Gary Ballance at the crease.
