STEVE Davis is confident Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana will still be Southampton players this time next month.

The Saints stars have been linked with moves away from St Mary’s, to Chelsea and Manchester United respectively, during the January transfer window.

Shaw grew up supporting Chelsea, who released him as a schoolboy, while Lallana is reported to be a target of United boss David Moyes.

But Davis is sure they are not going anywhere.

He said: “If you ask Luke or Adam they are totally happy here at the club and enjoying the ride we are on.

“It is inevitable the way the lads are playing at their age they will be linked with big clubs.

“A number here have massive futures ahead of them and it’s great to see that they’re repaying him by doing well.”

Lallana is under contract till 2018 and more settled than ever following his recent wedding.

“Everybody’s delighted for him,” said Davis, who believes Shaw will soon join Lallana in gaining full England recognition.

The 18 year-old has the chance to boost his World Cup chances against a Chelsea side including Ashley Cole at St Mary’s.

“You don’t want to heap too much pressure on young players but for me he looks an exceptional talent,” said Davis. “He’s got all the attributes to go on and be a world-class player.

“He’s level headed as well so if he can just stay fit and keep progressing he has a great, great future.”
