THE Sydenhams Wessex League are down to three standing in the FA Vase.

Moneyfields and their third round opponents Bitton AFC have been thrown out of the competition following a meeting at The FA earlier today.

The tie at Dover Road was abandoned at 1-1 in extra time following a mass brawl involving players from both sides.

The two clubs were fined £200 in the wake of the bust-up after admitting bringing the game into disrepute.

Two Moneys players - Adrian Brockway and Warren Hunt - were also found guilty by the Hampshire FA of charges brought in the aftermath.

The double expulsion hands scheduled fourth round opponents Hadleigh United a bye into the last 16 and leaves just Alresford Town, Blackfield & Langley and Sholing flying the Wessex flag on Saturday week (January 18).

Both Moneys and Bitton can appeal their removal and must submit this to The FA by 1pm on Friday.
