Poch again underlines his Saints commitment

Daily Echo: Mauricio Pochettino Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has reiterated his commitment to Saints.

The manager insisted in his matchday programme notes ahead of the FA Cup tie with Yeovil that despite Nicola Cortese's departure as executive chairman he has no intention of leaving.

He said: "I must also highlight that the structural changes behind the scenes here have not affected my position at the club.

"I spoke with Katharina Liebherr on the day after Nicola Cortese's departure and we were reassured that we have her full support towards our role with the team.

I remain committed to being manager of Southampton Football Club. It is a great responsibility, and one that I enjoy.

I was just thinking that if it had gone the other way and we had lost Poch, can we keep Jesus?

Given the choice of keeping NC or MoPo it's gotta be MoPo. Whilst I appreciate that he won't be with us forever it is obvious that he is the main reason we are fighting above our weight this season. I was a big fan of the NC 'way' and don't think we will ever know the true reason he left but I believe that MoPo can, with KL's backing, continue her fathers dream.
