EASTLEIGH have released two players from their Skrill Conference South promotion-chasing squad.
Right-back Damian Batt has had his contract terminated by mutual consent and the versatile Romone Rose wants to find a club closer to his Reading home.
Batt signed for the Spitfires from Oxford United in September but has been limited to 12 starts with a further seven appearances from the subs’ bench.
The 29-year-old had retired from professional football with Oxford to concentrate on running his own business and turned down several other offers to join the Spitfires.
His last start was in the 2-1 league win over Gosport Borough two weeks ago.
Rose, 24, was around the squad in pre-season and then linked up again with the Spitfires towards the end of August.
The ex-QPR, Newport County and Maidenhead wideman has made ten appearances this season, all off the bench, and leaves the Silverlake without ever having appeared in Richard Hill’s starting 11.
A club statement said: “We thank both players for their time at the club and wish them both well for the future.”
