Do feel bad for Cork, but also glad to have the power of Wanyama back. I don't think Big Vic will play a full 90 to be honest, so Jack might get on at some point anyway. i'm kind of grateful in a way that Wanyama got injured as it got Cork some game time. Of course he'll know why he was picked, but it was still important for him to play some football. If he'd not played at all I think we'd have lost him in January, so let's just be grateful we have three excellent centre midfielders to choose from and not just two.

    agree.
But if he could present a bit more of an attacking threat he might have dislodged Steve Davis.
JWP although only a youngster must be considered a regular too and therefore a little unlucky to not start.
Does the personnel suggest more of a 4-1 4-1 formation with Victor keeping the defence tight to allow the two full backs to overlap?
If I was an opposition manager I would be aware that there are attacking options throughout and probably try to counter that by playing two strikers, the option that Mourinho took.
Are Fulham good enough to do this? Only one of their signings available today I think.

Hello everyone. Greetings from the crossroads of Europe.

Cork? Yes, it seems harsh but we're a squad and I never see it that a player's been dropped, rather that MP's doing a bit of rotation. Just glad we have now got such quality. It wasn't so long ago that Cork would have walked into the team in about 4 or 5 different positions.

Anyway, don't fear, after Victor bags a brace and goes off to a standing ovation, Cork will come on and hammer home goal of the season from 45 yards. He's due one!

Here's my thoughts; if Lovren had been playing, I think MoPo would of kept Jack Cork in the side as he definitely didn't deserve to be dropped. But I don't think he's convinced about Yoshida & Fonte as a pairing, so he's gone for Wanyama to stop the attacks before they get that far. Cork is much better distributing the ball, but Wanyama gives us more solidity at the back & I think that's what he's gone for. Very tough luck on Corky, and I hope MoPo has explained it thoroughly (using whatever logic led him to his decision), but it's a squad game. And letting 2 goals back against Sunderland, and letting Arsenal get those two quick goals after the break, shows that the defence does need more protection.

And I agree, Victor probably won't get a full game, so Corky should get on the field at some point.

With our full-backs, though, I'd be tempted to go 4-3-3, with JC, VW & MS in the middle, MS pushing on, and AL, JR RL up top. I'd at least give it a go - but maybe we need VW back to match fitness first?

But I think we'll get a result today.

I know that first of all we have to concentrate on just winning, but I also think we need to be getting some goals to boost our GD.
When teams play MCFC now they do not know where to defend against what players because they know they are capable of scoring from anywhere. That is what we need to aiming for.
Our defence, even without Lovren, is quite good as we have the 4th best record this season so far. We must now press on and as is often said the best form of defence is attack, we do press from Rickie and Jay and we now need to be converting the many chances we make. Sam made a positive start against Arsenal but once again he had the oppurtunity to score and he didn't take it. A goal off someones backside is still a goal.

It WILL be a screamer, but the tabloids will describe it as a CORKER. Not sure how they're going to describe the fourth, when Guly picks the ball up in his own penalty area, dribbles the length of the pitch past all 10 Fulham players and, from the edge of the penalty box, punts the ball about 200 feet into the air and over Stekelenburg into the net; something like Guly, Gladly, Steeply, I guess.

That goal by Jay was a wonderful solo effort on the left, cuts in by two backs and curls a shot over the keeper into the right side of e goal. Like an Osvaldo goal mins the attitude and plus the effort and team approach.

    Great reporting from BBC here:

What a goal! Goodness me this is how to counter attack! Rickie Lambert is midway in his own half when he looks up and sends Jay Rodriguez away down the left, he's the only man in Fulham's half. It's a lost cause, but the England man cuts inside before clipping a delicious finish over the head of Artur Boruc and into the top corner. Brilliant, brilliant goal

    2-1 then LOL!

Yep, that Poch is rubbish. Mind you, he might just have been the bloke who at half time - and in his best English - told the midfield to keep attacking the Fulham right side where, defensively, from the first minute, they were so obviously pants.
