A MAN denied conspiring to kill three people following an alleged shooting in a Newport street.

Gary Rabjohns, 24, appeared before Newport Crown Court via video link in connection with the incident in Chepstow Road on September 3 last year.

Rabjohns, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to three counts of conspiracy to murder and a further three counts of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm between August 31 and September 5.

The charges relate to the three alleged victims, Michael Wall, John Junior Phillips and Shanice Francis.

Appearing in court on Friday, Rabjohns also denied a further count of perverting the course of justice between October 1 and October 5.

Brogan Hooper, 20, of no fixed address, and Lewis Bridge, 22, of Nash Drive, Newport, also appeared at Newport Crown Court.

They denied three counts of conspiracy to murder and three counts of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the same alleged victims at an earlier hearing.

Judge Eleri Rees remanded the trio in custody.

A pre-trial review is to take place on February 24 .

The trial is set to open on March 3.
