THE North West Ambulance Service has launched an Electronic Referral Information Sharing System (ERISS) available to all health and social care providers across the North West.
The system was developed to aid communications between the trust and other NHS organisations. It means that if an emergency call out results in the patient not needing hospital care, they can be referred to the correct medical service.
In addition, the system allows GPs to ‘alert’ ambulance crews and paramedics.
