DIMI Mascarenhas has reached the Big Bash final in his first season with the Hobart Hurricanes.
The former Hampshire captain took 1-32 from his four overs as the previously unbeaten Melbourne Stars lost today’s semi-final by seven wickets.
Hobart captain George Bailey led from the front after the Stars had been restricted to 141-8, after winning the toss.
The former Hampshire batsman scored an unbeaten 32 (26 balls) to see the Stars home with 11 balls to spare against an attack including Lasith Malinga.
Hobart will play the winners of the second semi-final, between Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers, on Friday.
