Team members from the Wilko store on Woolwich New Road, Woolwich, have raised £126 for Cancer Research UK by painting the faces of children visiting the store.

The team is now planning a bumper year of fundraising to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK - its charity of the year - which is dedicated to finding new and better ways to treat cancer.

Modupe Owodunni, assistant store manager, said: “The face painting was great fun for all the children that visited the store.

“We’re really looking forward to another year of fundraising for Cancer Research UK, after we chose to continue supporting the cause as a team.”

Sharon Baldwin, regional fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said: “The team at Wilko in Woolwich has made such a great effort to fundraise over £126 for our charity, which will go towards helping people around the UK that are affected by cancer. We’re so grateful for the support.”
